Other cart softwares guess and autodetect things in order to load the ROM, YSmenu doesn't and needs explicit info for every game.

However, Ysmenu's source is available (and info on how it works), which is why RGF can use it as a base for something to launch games with fixes and junk.

Installation Instructions :
For DSTT/i, Original R4s, R4/i-SDHC, DSONE/i, R4SDHC v1.34, M3 Real/M3iZero, GEi/R4i and other DSTT/R4 Clones which can use YSMenu/TTMenu.
Download the latest Multi Cart Update and copy necessary contents to the root of your µSD. If there is a newer DAT Update, copy/replace the newer .dat files to your µSD YSMenu or TTMenu folder.
Please read the How to Install.txt and other .txt files included. They will answer most of your questions.

Formatting µSD :
Please use the SDFormatter v3.1 to format your µSD using the following options :
FORMAT TYPE : FULL (OverWrite)
FORMAT SIZE ADJUSTMENT : ON

Bug Reporting :
Make sure you are using CLEAN UNTRIMMED dumps.
My DATs only support CLEAN and TRANSLATION PATCHED games.
If games are freezing/black/white screening, it's because you're using a poor quality µSD. I use a genuine SanDisk 8GB class2 µSD (not the mobile type) and I have NEVER had problems running any known working game.
If a game doesn't appear in the Known Problems spoiler, please INCLUDE the following information but ONLY AFTER you have eliminated your µSD as an issue by FULL FORMATTING using the Panasonic SD Formatter.

Common DSTT Error Codes

errcode=-4 : Caused by not having the required loading data for that particular DS Normal game in infolib.
errcode=-5 : Caused by not having the required loading data for that particular DSi-Enhanced game in infolib and also caused by not having the latest ttpatch.dat/r4patch.dat/m3patch.dat in the TTMenu folder (file depends on which cart you are using).
errcode=81 : Caused by fragmentation on your µSD. Backup microSD to PC, then Full format with the Panasonic SD Formatter to rectify.
errcode=83 : Save file fragmentation on your µSD. Backup microSD to PC, then Full format with the Panasonic SD Formatter to rectify.

Enabling All file extensions on your PC

Then click View Tab

RGF, WarioWare D.I.Y (E) freezes after saving after downloading games on Nintendo WFC, i'm using an clean and untrimmed rom, also the sav file size is 16MB long, is that normal?

Say, I have had YSMenu on my GEi kart for a while now (started using it even before Retro decided to add GEi to his official updates). It runs YSMenu as the default kernel/firmware (sorry, I can't tell which is which) and can still run the original GEi kernel/firmware. It works fine and I only update the DATs for compatibility. However, from the start, I had a problem with the soft-reset feature. It doesn't work on the custom-YSMenu I'm using. Is there any way I can make it work, say by changing or adding a file instead of completely changing the kernel/firmware?

EDIT: I forgot to add Moonshell. I can run Moonshell perfectly well but the "Go back to Firmware" option doesn't work. Something about RPG(something).(something) missing. I realized this might not concern YSMenu itself but perhaps there will be someone who can help.

I deleted it and I can't seem to find it. Retro or somebody else can you please post the background picture. I like pokemon but I don't like the background

the Flames Skin is in the YSMenu Skins folder. Just copy the 3 files from inside the Flames folder and copy them to the TTMenu folder on your µSD.

EDIT: aaaaaand this is what i get for not listening, tried to use R4iSDHC YSMenu as a dual boot with the original firmware, got it to run and when trying to load a game, a freeze that ended in the card getting bricked(ds won't recognize it).

Hello, I'm new here. I have a question and I could not find the answer (even thru' google), couldn't be sure was it a limitation.
My card is R4sdhc using 8GB, whether I'm using YSMENU or Wood_R4, whenever I placed more than 44 nds games, I could not access the 45th game and onwards. Has anyone been getting the same problem as I'm, was it a limitation bug? Thanks in advance to anyone who answer me, thanks.

Some carts have a limit on the number of files you can have per folder, but it's usually some power of two limitation (like 256), 44 seems odd.

What brand is the MicroSD, where did you get it? If you got it off ebay or some chinese import shop it might be fake and only really 2GB or something with an 8GB label which is why the data gets cut off after you fill it past a certain amount... we have seen this before.

My MicroSD is from Sandisk, genuine with 8GB, not fake which I can be assure (SDFormatter shows 7.39GB), I might still be able to dig out the packaging come with it . 44 did seem odd to me too, I did try out once which is 45. Most of the time is 44 (aka 3pages in YSMENU) and following can't be played, original r4sdhc firmware is playing alright, except sometime no picture icons. That's why I'm asking around here to check it out. I do have a 16GB MicroSD but still having same result (limitation of 44) too. Do U have anymore ideas which it can happens? Thanks for reply.

I'm not sure if this has been reported, but with Fire Emblem 12 (J) with the 3.01 translation patch, I keep getting rom loading error -4. I'm using the latest M3Real FW.
