    I've never tried Satellaview, but FDS works in FCEUMM (possibly others). You'll need the following BIOS:

    BIOS filename: disksys.rom
    MD5: ca30b50f880eb660a320674ed365ef7a
    CRC32: 5E607DCF

    Put it in sd:\retroarch\cores\system.

    Has anyone figured out how to use PPSSPP core through Retroarch yet or is it just not doable?

    I figured out how to get Satellaview ROMs working. You'll need to use the "SNES9x - Current" core. The documentation on libretro.com says to use the original JP BIOS (placed in the "system" folder on the SD card), but I tried the "English + No DRM" BIOS and it works as well.

    Launching games is a little weird:

    1. When you load a Satellaview ROM you'll see a talking TV screen. The game will stutter very badly on this screen. Just keep pressing A and input a name if asked.
    2. Next, you'll see an overworld which will also stutter badly. You're still actually in the BIOS. Just press Up on the D-pad and then press A against the door.
    3. You'll see the talking screen again. Press A a few more times and you'll get the option to actually load the game.
    4. Once the game is fully loaded (this takes a while) there shouldn't be any stuttering.

    I imagine some extra files or hacks must be needed for SoundLink games. I suggest testing those on the desktop version first.

    Given that PSP supports core Picodrive, maybe I'll try this crazy idea when I return home:
    -Use retroarch for PSP;
    -Place Retroarch folder inside PPSSPP/GAME on Wii U SD card;
    -Try Wii U PPSSPP and try some 32X rom;

    There aren't many worthy games for 32X maybe the only memorable game : Knuckles' Chaotix.

    Edit: I've just tried the said idea. It worked but sadly very slow like 1 fps (This isn't a metaphor really every second the player moves by a frame ).

    [IMG]

    Edit 2: just forget about this idea even on real PSP 32X works very slow. I should have checked that first:

    Guys, I performed the update to version 1.9 of the cores I have, when entering retroarch no command works, nor in the pro control, much less in the gamepad. What can it be?

    note: if I go back to the cores used previously everything works, and that's what I currently use in retroarch.

    okay I'll try this soon too thank you SOOO much man. would you recommend the no drm english bios? and what is soundlink? is that needed at all for the zelda ports? once i can figure it out I'll probrably grab every workable game i can get. for both famicom disc and satella, once i put the both bios in that system folder, do I just open a game and I should be good? Or do I find those files in the folder in retro and boot them?

    holy shit thats cool haha i would have never thought of that. the good 32x games I dont mind playing on my computer so it not playable yet on Wii U isnt too too bad.

    MD5 and CRC32 are basically shorthand ways of comparing files to make sure they match up. Instead of actually comparing them byte for byte, it generates a unique string for each file, which makes it so you can check a file without already having a good copy to compare it to. If you're using 7zip, it lists the CRC of each file in most archive types, so you can just use that to make sure your BIOS matches the CRC I listed above.

    SoundLink was like a streaming thing for Satellaview games. There was audio that wasn't a part of the ROM and was actually streamed on the fly. This format complicates emulation and some of the audio isn't even available, so it's not really as simple as loading the ROMs. I think there might be some audio packs or something but I don't know much about it.

    Nice!

    I guess we still need Wiimote lightgun and USB mouse support, but touchscreen support on a resistive touchscreen is the more unique thing to have, so definitely the coolest thing to have first IMO.

    How do I update the retroarch? Even downloading a new version, it shows as if it were 1.7.7. I use forward, but even running via hbl, it still shows 1.7.7

    okay cool. thank you I tried it out and with the bios in the system, I was able to run both zeldas just fine. I also was able to open a Kirby Baseball Mini-game game but the rest didnt boot, the only one I was bummed about was the Mario themed Excite-bikes. Were you able to open them by chance? I tried opening the english bios to check out the menus but nothing shows up for downloading the games, how do you get the bios to notice the games? because i just have a folder in my sd called roms and every system in a folder. Also have you ever tried Sufami Turbo add-on for SNES? theres like 16 games or something but I think I might try to figure that one out

    You can't update Retroarch at the moment, their github was wiped by a hacker and it's going to take a while for them to rebuild everything.

    I know, I even left a link with the updates for you to want on their twitter! But in any case, to update only via the retroarch menu? I have the files I downloaded.

    Just overwrite the old files to update. I don't think the online updater works on Wii U. You have to do it manually by downloading new versions and overwriting the old files.

    Perfect, I did the update, but the ozone driver still doesn't work as I expected. We have a bug that makes it impossible to read the games. And I have no idea how to fix it.

    Sufami Turbo works fine as long as you have the BIOS as listed on the SNES9x documentation page. Every ROM I tried booted fine.

    As for the other Satellaview games, I have no idea how they were even originally meant to be loaded/played. I guess it's kind of similar to C64 and DOS emulation in that if you're not familiar with the original system you're gonna have a hard time trying to make it work even with a good emulator. I mean in theory there should be a way, but I'm honestly clueless here... :lol:

    This was fixed a version or two back. You're gonna have to find a more current download.
