atm every nro over 30 Mb gives a timeout crash we dont know why , just the saturn core without any game got 4mb.

Thats 32X but it runs slow idk if its an issue of any flag , or an issue of picodrive itself (but maybe now we need gpu power)

Could be related to the issue Twinaphex mentioned yesterday:
Latest core to work with RetroArch Switch now thanks to the efforts of random contributors is Picodrive!

Unfortunately, the SH2 dynarec for Picodrive is ARMv7 32bit only, no AArch64. Fingers crossed that SH2 interpreter might be quick enough for Switch, although I bet it won't. I'd hope to be wrong though.

@Natehax and others already posted screenshots of this.

Perhaps it is because it's running purely on interpreter?
Well at least Genesis games run well.
Have you tried a Saturn game which is not as big?
There might be a game which when reduced is not 30MB+, maybe even a homebrew game (if there is one for it).
Same for Sega CD games on PicoDrive, perhaps a hack like Sonic Megamix or another one like that could be good enough for testing the Sega CD performance on the Switch using Picodrive.

i will try to modify picodrive and report soon.

Natehaxx, look who just responded:

He seems to be hinting at a possible Homebrew Launcher on Feb 1st, which means 30MB and up NROs might work :)
Good for testing cores with big games like Saturn, Dreamcast, PS1 and such (when those come around)

this is a very important date , also because nobody of reswitched knows what they gonna drop but they have jit support on switchbrew but to use jit you need kernelhax so what ever comes it wont be small.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Why 32x is running slow it needs Jit , Dynarec wont work without it as i learned on the Discord Chat.

this is also what PS1 N64 and others need.

Oh I see.
So once JIT is implemented, we can expect a speedup in 32x games, as well as the possibility for PS1 and N64 cores?

nobody knows , i dont even know if they use pegaswitch to run hbl
I thought plutoo was part of Reswitched, wasn't he?
But still, I do what to believe they might be connected somehow.

All we can do at the moment is wait for Feb 1st, then we can see what else is in store :P
A proper HBL would be a godsend for sure, but we still have yet to see if it will come with kernel access or if it will be limited to userland at the moment of release.

but if its a real Homebrew Launcher it will be installed on the System which will be not Possible without CFW or any Kernel

We don't know that yet :P
I want to believe it will come alongside kernel access, but I'm not sure how this might work.
It could very well be a standalone NRO which loads up more stuff and adds some libraries, but all of that is unknown at the moment.

Best way to be sure would be to ask the guys directly, but they might dodge the questions just seeing how we are like one week from Feb 1st.
