Huh; I'm still recieving "no items" in my /retroarch/ROM/PSX/ folder...
I don't know if it's relevant or not (you seem to have a better knowledge for Retroarch than me lol), but could it be because I'm using an unstable nightly? (I happened to download the latest nightly there possibly is, as of typing)

I'd give a re-transfer via FTP a try, or if all else fails, delete/rebuild retroarch.cfg.
I seriously have no idea what's going on with this other than everyone's image files being corrupt, or their memory card dying; it's not unusual for this to be the case with Vita MC's, sadly.

Mortal kombat trilogy with the sound of running scenarios?

If someone can test Mortal Kombat Trilogy and Mortal Kombat 4 I would be very grateful! What I care the most is framerate.

tested mortal kombat trilogy has sound 100%?

MK Trilogy runs great. 60fps (refer to my previous post about Raiden kicking my ass). im using version 1.0.
sound works perfect. a couple minor pops while in the menus but once the game play starts, its fine.

my 1.0 version has multiple track01.bin track02.bin track03.bin etc. when you load the game from retroarch, select and run the cue file. music in the stages will now work. if you only select track01.bin, the game will still run but music will not work in the stages. not sure if this is the case for all multi-bin games.

.ECM files, for note, NEVER once worked; it's explicitly used as a file compression format for faster network transfer speeds (Read, small filesize outputs), and that's it. You'll find an unpacker around Google somewhere, but it'll be a bit to find one that's reliable; preferably one that's a command-line drag'n'drop program.
Recommended to use .bin/.cue combos, or .IMG and/or .ISO images.
ECM files work with ePSXe just fine.

this isnt epsxe tho. google unecm tool. then on your pc, just drag and drop your bin.ecm file on top of it and it will output a fix for you. copy over bin and cue file. your game should now work.

I never had any issues with loading any roms, I actually suggested what you just told me to another user on this thread. Have a read on the previous page.

Everyone experiencing problems with files use Vitashell V1.2 I think there was an issue with Vitashell lower than V1.

Copy using ftp it's more reliable.

I can confirm crash bandicoot 2 US is working fine for me with audio. It's weird, it seemed to run full speed even though RetroArch said it couldn't detect a bios even though I put 5500, 5501, & 5502 in the data/RetroArch/system directory.

Uh.
Sir.
The color.
Maaaay wanna fix that...?

Also, Soul Blade/Edge: ~45fps.

That's because PCSX (And unrelated, by extension, ePSXe) support HLE BIOS: Basically emulates the PSX BIOS in software, but it lacks some syscalls. That's why, when booting in HLE BIOS mode, it warns about possible bugs.
For example, Klonoa - Door to Phantomile won't start a new game past the beginning FMV without a fitting BIOS.

Make sure it's named EXACTLY SCPH5500.BIN, SCPH5501.BIN, and SCPH5502.BIN, and remember that SCPH7001 will substitute SCPH5501 just fine.

Ugh, I'm an idiot. I had them named as SCPH5500 PSX.bin, SCPH5501 PSX.BIN, etc. Bios loads now. Thanks.

testing PCSX.... SF EX2 Plus

testing side by side using PSP2000 with microsd adapter

1. PSP2000 version is compressed eboot around 200MB

2. PS Vita version is uncompressed bin/cue file around 400MB

the PSP2000 is much faster when it comes to NOW LOADING parts of the game, looks like the vita memcard disk IO is crap compared to the microsd adapter used in the PSP.....

or maybe the emu is just fairly new and can surpass the PSP emu someday.

but congrats and thanks for this!

Is pcsx crashing for anyone else when you try loading a rom while another one is running?

At the moment, if you try closing a game from RA, it'll crash the application.
Adding to bugs list for now.

It's both.
It's new (Hence the pausing when screenshotting) and the IO is legitimately shit (IIRC, Vita MC's are at around Class 2 to Class 4 MicroSD levels of performance, if not slightly worse).

  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
Do I restart now using what i've learned on the EU version since it's a better overall experience? or do I continue with the US version since that is what ive been using, and if someone decides to play my hack, it would most likely be that version?
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@TwoSpikedHands, I'll preface this with the fact that I know nothing about the game, but, I think it depends on what your goals are. Are you trying to make a definitive version of the game? You may want to refocus your efforts on the EU version then. Or, are you trying to make a better US version? In which case, the only way to make a better US version is to keep on plugging away at that one ;)
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
I'm not familiar with the technicalities of the differences between the two versions, but I'm wondering if at least some of those differences are things that you could port over to the US version in your patch without having to include copyrighted assets from the EU version
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
@Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I really would like to make a hack that I would enjoy playing, and maybe other people would too. swapping to the EU version would also mean my US friends could not legally play it
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
    I appreciate the insight!
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@TwoSpikedHands just switch, all the knowledge you learned still applies and most of the code and assets should be the same anyway
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    and realistically they wouldn't

be able to play it legally anyway since they need a ROM and they probably don't have the means to dump it themselves
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
why the shit does the shitbox randomly insert newlines in my messages
  • Veho @ Veho:
It does that when I edit a post.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It inserts a newline in a random spot.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
never had that i don't think
  • Karma177 @ Karma177:
do y'all think having an sd card that has a write speed of 700kb/s is a bad idea?
trying to restore emunand rn but it's taking ages... (also when I finished the first time hekate decided to delete all my fucking files )
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@Karma177 that sd card is 100% faulty so yes, its a bad idea
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
even the slowest non-sdhc sd cards are a few MB/s
  • Karma177 @ Karma177:
@The Real Jdbye it hasn't given me any error trying to write things on it so I don't really think it's faulty (pasted 40/50gb+ folders and no write errors)

    run h2testw on it
