Hello, sorry I’m new here and retroarch was working perfectly fine before but, now when I load my ps1 game ( witch worked before ) now gives me a “ An exeption error exeption type data abort Processor ARM9 “ Can anyone help?

The latest "stable" release introduced new issues affected "New" 3DS/2DS. Install the latest nightly, it might solve your problem.

Okay do I just copy the retroarch build to the root or do I download the new cia to? Also is a ps1 bios recommend? Oh and the bios isn’t the problem because it was working fine before

Dunno if I missed something along the way, but Genesis GX+ 1.7.6 is running much faster on N3DS than I remember. Sonic 3 blue sphere is now full speed with no tearing or hitching. Still some trouble with Mega Turrican though. Not sure if this is a core specific thing or some general changes that affect all cores.

gPSP still as crashy as ever in case anyone was wondering.

IMO 1.7.3 is the fastest in core loading and starting roms. Latest 1.7.6 takes like 10x more time to open up a core or a game. I'll go back to 1.7.3 and wait for a proper 1.7.7...

I’m having an issue where I just can’t open the retroarch cia, it does the splash screen but after that I just get kicked to home no matter what I do...

EDIT: Fixed, downloaded nightly build but the recent ones have been unfathomably slow compared to older versions so im going to hunt for an older version...

my latest retroarch wont load the Nice UI, only the old one :(

Installed 1.7.5 on top of 1.7.6 now it wont even boot e.e

It is stuck on a screen that says No profiles found.
Delete your Retroarch folder. Also, they changed the default UI due to load times and instability, you can switch to xmb through the driver options.

The oldest Snes9x is usually fullspeed for me on New models. Be sure to use DSP sound driver as mentioned.

Edit: The latest stable really seems to have made some performance optimizations as the default config, which lets GenesisGX / snes9x2002 run full-speed on New models for "normal" chip carts. Resampler quality seems to be minimal for instance. There maybe be other optimized settings that I don't know of but at least its possible to run these emulators well.

Those two always ran fullspeed for me once I switched to an N3DS. They did make DSP the default though.

Snes9x2005 now runs fullspeed on a n3ds for most games except for special chip games. Genesis Plus GX = fullspeed (it wasn't before). CD games dip to 57-58fps. PCSX still sucks. FBA neogeo = still crashes with metal slug 5.

Your post somehow gave me the idea to try out gPSP with dynarec *disabled* on n3DS and its actually running much faster! (And naturally no crashes without dynarec). Can now play Zero Mission, Mario v Donkey Kong, Aria of Sorrow full speed, get slight stuttering while loading new rooms but the gameplay is silky smooth and no gaps in the sound. (I think they've also made the sound buffer lax so it can tolerate small drops better.) Mario Kart also ran without a hitch. Some games still struggle badly like knight of lodis and Sonic Advance, but this is certainly faster than mGBA now and should be the go-to emulator if you don't like VC injects.

Downloaded the latest stable release .cia from their website for my OG 3DS XL but whatever NES core I'm running for my Dragon Warrior 3 rom, it is running really really slow. What settings can I use to make it run full speed?

@SylverReZ, I also heard one of the Prince of Persia games was so unfinished that it required the "24/7 online" drm so a puzzle could be done and the game could be finished. And that when the Ubisoft servers were closed the (cracked) game was impossible to finish or something like that
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, That's extra scummy. Ubisoft nowadays ship out incomplete games like Skull and Bones which was being worked on for nearly a decade now.

I like that games can be fixed after the fact, hate that it's being abused via beta tests... And DLC... I was a 7800 owner back in the day and loved Impossible Mission, turns out I couldn't beat it because it was actually impossible lol

I never knew about it at the time but a fixed version was available but you had to mail in your broken copy lol

So that version is semi rare
