Don't expect any grand improvements in performance anytime soon, if ever.

The PCSX-ReARMed core's not seen any major performance boosts for a long time.

I'm sorry to read that. Still, thanks for the answer and a second thanks to the guys on this project - they're awesome.

I tried the emu's you mentioned, dont know what the patches where for exactly.
But the earlier reported issues still happen (crashes on load save state and such)

If i still report stuff to early, just ignore what i say.
I think the fixes were for actually booting up ROMs, because you got a crash before when trying to boot any ROM, and the crash restarted the console.
If that has been fixed then the commit did its job :P

just tried the roms that crashed with the other nightly's, and they boot so if the patches where for that then yes it would have done its job.

Edit: got alot of roms to go through though.

Edit2: constantly booted roms about 40 times only got 1 crash on boot.
So the crashes are quit rare.
Also the flicker and duplicating of the top screen,
happens on boot with some of the roms though this only seems to happen with pcsx.

FCEUmm, SNES9X2002, PCSX, Gambatte, Mednafen WonderSwan, and both Genesis cores all work, have no screen tear, and can save/load states. And their icons are hella sexy. Awesome. PicoDrive crashed the first time I tried a Sega CD game, but it worked the next time. PCE CD games still crash when closing, but that was there before. I think the last message it prints is save-related.

@aliaspider @LibretroRetroArc
I managed to find out why most cores crash with XBM enabled.
It's not XBM itself but the assets package which cause it.

I installed the new nightly and deleted the old retroarch.cfg file.
Booted up both Nestopia and PocketSNES, booted ROMs with no issue at all.

However, when I enable the directory for assets manually (I had to change the default directory for the assets because I have them in a folder called /retroarch/assets/ instead of /retroarch/media/ for default), no ROM was booting anymore with most cores.
So the assets package seems to be causing problems with ROM booting.
I can run MAME 2003 and Virtual Boy fine with it enabled though.

Out of that, I gotta give you guys kuddos, GenPlus GX no longer has tearing for me, and the rest of the cores work great! Gpsp still has tearing with SMA4, but that's normal since no updates have tackled that yet.

Thank you guys for your amazing work!

Guys, I have noticed that libretro have add dynarec to gpsp and picodrive. Has this been integrated into the 3ds versions?

Thanks

These have been part of the 3DS versions for nearly a year and a half. They only work with the .cia versions, however.

Just had a marathon of genesis on the xl screen. It's amazing, everything's so sharp and smooth. Far better then my psp 2k screen. Had to use 1.3.2 though as any newer version has some weird tearing on the right side.
I wish pcsx rearmed worked.
Cheers.

It does. Make sure you're using the latest nightly, not the latest stable.
The latest stable worked great for me on my brand new n3DS, but does not work on my o3DS. It is a complete reverse for the latest nightly, where it works great on my o3ds, but not my n3DS at all. In both instances, when it crashes, it forces a reboot and only crashes upon loading a ROM. (In this case, Intelligent Qube because it isn't resource heavy and runs fairly well when it runs.)

All other cores are finally working great for me, except NEStopia. A few show screen tearing issues still, but they're playable. Keep up the great work, devs.
