So when it first came out, i could only find the euro version, so thats the one i ended up downloading. But can Euro gamers play with US-Gamers? or do i have to get the us version to play with a wider community of gamers?

It doesn't matter, the servers are all joined.
Japanese, European, and North America are the same.
You can switch Language servers but if yours is set in English you can play with US players.
