This is a game much beautiful but unfortunately it is in Japanese, is possible to make a translation?

EDIT: The title is Requesting Translation: Kaitou Rousseau, sorry

Just took a quick look, seems it uses a script engine similar to xml or html, and uses sjis stored in txt files so it shouldn't be hard too translate at all

where are the text files? I can only see ones for the tutorial

Well it supports the double (was it single) byte ASCII

so I think I can do this translation if and only if I can find the files with all the text

and the site that FAST has provided, there was this:

Tap the guard’s face and the tutorial about the Disguise Icon will appear. Answer (Yes/No), No to skip the tutorial.
Now draw the guard’s face to disguise yourself. Once you’re ready, tap the bottom left button and answer (Yes/No) Yes you’re finished.

Not much of a translation, but I might be able to substitute some of my own text.

but all of the story texts are all provided, so i'll translate as I play the game (good thing that no$gba supports this game)

so, anybody willing to help?
(i'll try to stay as the romhacker for this one

I actually have had this game for a long time (over a year at least) and just haven't gotten around to playing it. It looks like a goodie and there's zero chance it's getting an official translation. I'd offer to look through the scripts but since it's one I bought I really want to play it before getting spoiled.

The game script has been translated in the site that FAST has gave, but some parts are missing (such as the texts in graphics) so if am going to translate this game for real, i'll contact you when I need help

EDIT: just looked through the rom itself, but I still can't find the main script. I just think I've missed it, but would be a lot easier if I can find the text separately in the unpacked rom.

rough translation with one of the text files in the tutorial folder.... I can't locate the "tutorial file" for the one in the very beginning

you think my unpacking went wrong or something? (used dslazy)

Just some things- looks like it uses the ruby html thingy, which is unused in english, so that also gives extra space. This way, I don't think I need to worry about space limits- now all I need is finding the script

S'ok with me. Bits and pieces I think I can do without spoilers.

Yeah i can't seem to find much text either, just:
\data\matching\base\text
\data\omake\trial
\data\swg\menu
\data\system\tutorial
Maybe the "main" text is stored as images?

the main text is not stored as images, which I can even bet money on. But i'll check the arm9.bin.

compression might be done, but by looking at how it uses some html, i don't think there are high chances for that, but still, i'll look for table files to see if there are compressions of some sort. but once again, some parts of the texts are not and are saved in separate files, I think I'll first look over more of the files before I do so.

just looking at the arm9.bin, i've found some strings, but unluckily it's not the complete script, and i'm not even sure if it's the script.

well because I was so.. just frustrated, i've loaded the whole rom onto emeditor, and just did a quick ctrl+F to do a search, and i've found the "missing" tutorial parts.

here's the dump:

now only if I can find these in separate files

but fortunately i was able to conclude that the texts are not compressed, so a little search might do good.
but unfortunately school has started today and already a crapload of homework (almost typed homebrew) from APhist!!!
5 packets, about 5 page each, a whole book by the end of the week, a miniproject, and 3 quiz studying!

i'm gonna fail ;?;

if you are not going to give a helpful reply to me stating where i might be able to find the script, don't even bother replying.
reason 1: this is a request topic. I've chose to answer and try to make an attemp to translate.
reason 2: this is not a translation project topic. you do post "please get it done" or "I hope you finish soon" etc here.

[MERGE]

i've figured out the rest of the tutorial is found in the folder called tutorial in the system folder.
(wonder why.)

but still, no luck on the script. after I find out what the trial comments are, i think I can actually start this (and after I find the script
frown.gif
)

[MERGE]

i'm 100% sure the script is compressed or pictures now

help = welcome
