replacing the gba sp screen

i just found my ol gba sp and the screen is really dark ( yes i know that you can buy an abs-101 screen but these things are really expensive) so i was thinking can you connect a DS screen to the mortherboard of the gba sp?

(that it doesnt fit in the shell isnt a problem...)

That will not work. The ribbon cable is probably a different size, but I imagine the GBA SP doesn't send enough power to the screen to run it and it's light.
