Hi All,

Just got a dirt cheap DS on ebay and am planning to replace the shell as it had broken hinges and generally looked in a bad way. However, was told it worked (and it does) and that screens were "ok". The touch screen though has a few scratches so am looking to replace it. Has anyone here replaced the touch screen? Is it difficult? Is it even possible? Any help appreciated.

I only really bought it for the motherboard, lime green buttons and the lime green screen borders (going to put it in a clear shell).

Cheers

Easy enough, if it's a DS Lite the touchscreen part (digitizer) is a thin piece of glass that sits over the lcd, not too hard to replace

Phew! Happy to hear that! However, will I still be able to keep the lime green border or is that not possible?

Sure can, use a slim craft knife blade to slide under it and it will prize off, best to slide the blade all the way round it otherwise you could break the border when you pull it off, most of the time they have good double sided tape on and will stick again, (most new shells come with the double sided tape bits separate so you'll be able to use that)

Hope that helps
