So I've decided to repair my DSL, even though I have a DSi.
These are what I'm planing to get:

1) Replacement case (crimson):
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.12695
DSL is a. half broken and b. really dirty.

2) Replacement flip-open screen shaft (or what ever it is):
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.15853
DSL has a broken hinge.

3) Replacement inner antenna and mic:
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.25130
Only need the mic part as mine doesn't work. couldn't care less about that other thing.

4) Replacement button pads:
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.1466
Hard to press the buttons on my DSL, figured that new inner pads will solve the problem
(gonna buy a few of these, in case this problem might reappear).

5) Screen protectors:
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.4086
Mine are completely scratched - better buy new ones.

NOW, is there anything else I might be forgetting?
and is the case good enough? (as in strong, and has all the parts?)
also, does anyone have a video guide of how to replace a case? I know there's a good guide here on GBATemp with pictures, but a video would be much better.

Any advice would be welcomed,
Thanks for whoever helps

Not used that replacment housing, so I can't say if it's good or not.

May not actually need this, it should just be the plastic that the hinge goes into that is broke. But if you're sure the actual hinge mechanism is broke, go for it.

The other thing is the wifi antenna, if you're wifi works now then that's fine.

I've just installed these, been using them about a day now and IMO they're better than the originals. It makes the DPAD feel really nice.

I'd go with official Hori ones from somewhere like Amazon or PlayAsia, but whatever

Do you have a trigram screwdriver and a small phillips head screwdriver? You can get them here

I've got some of tips on this thread here. Just be careful, take your time, don't force anything and you should be fine. For reconnecting LCR cables push it in a little bit with your finger, then there are 2 parts that stick out of either side a little. Get a stylus or something and push it against those sticking out bits to easily get it into the connector.

Some nice videos here but I find thieves like us guide to be the most detailed.

Rofl, thats a lot to repair ^^, might as well buy a top screen LCD, a touch screen LCD and a motherboard.

Anyways I used to have the old Nintendo OEM Crimson Black case and the hinges break too easily. I never dropped it or anything the like yet somehow they both cracked. But it's you're choice ^^, its a pretty good color.

Thanks for your help, ShatteredScreens.
Definitely going to need to change the hinge as my DS doesn't open properly (which means not only the plastic part is broken).
My wifi works fine - so the antenna is quite useless for me.
It's good to hear that the pads are comfortable, as a few reviews from dealextreme say they aren't as good as the original ones

I don't think I'll be needing the screwdrivers though - have plenty of them at home

Thanks a lot for the tips and videos too - even though their main point (of the videos) is to show how to replace the screens, they also show how to disassemble and reassemble the DSL, so thanks

Nah, it's not that much

These are quite common problems people have, you know - broken hinge, hard to press buttons,
non working microphone, etc...
All together comes out like $20, so it's worth it

Since the case I'm planing to get is not the original one, I expect it to be as good as the other ones DX sells

BTW, I heard the hinge breaks quickly if you don't open your DS correctly (as in from the side and not straight up), so I'm planing to be more careful this time.
