Remove the backplate squeaking from a N3DS/XL

So unfortunately my backplate started squeaking/creaking today on my New Nintendo 3DS console which is almost 2 months old. My guess the squeaking started due to the frequent removing of the backplate to access the micro SD card.
So I found a pretty neat solution which effectively removes the squeak!

So before you start you should keep in mind that youll need several things which are super easy to find!

  1. Sellotape (clear tape).
  2. A screwdriver to open the backplate.
  3. About 10 minutes of your time!
So first youre going to want to take a small piece of clear tape and tape it in half as shown in one of the pictures bellow. Next youre gonna place that piece of tape under the part of the backplate that squeaks which is most likely a corner on the new models. Be sure the tape doesnt overlap and sits tightly between the console and the backplate. Tighten your screws and your console should be squeak free!

If one piece of tape doesnt help, you can place even more!

1. A regular black New 3DS

2. The squeaking part of the backplate where the battery is located.

3. Tape placement. Ive placed my piece of tape on the upper side of the console which did the trick for me. Pro tip: Once youve made your piece of tape you can slightly remove one side of it and tape it to your battery or wherever depending on the size of the tape. Just be sure to place the tape as shown in the picture bellow and that it doesnt overlap for estetic reasons and my OCD :gba:

I know this post is pretty old, but for anyone stumbling upon it, I just tried it and he's not lying. It works like a charm.

Thanks for this thread! You just saved me from many a' squeaks.

I'm fortunate to have had some managers over the years who I've straight up told to go fuck themselves, and not get in trouble for it. Help that I've been on the receiving end of that as well lmao

I luckily haven't had a boss in over 20 years, (independent contractor) but the people I do work for, it's pretty much like they my bosses, and yea some can be assholes. But there has been many jobs I've walked off and mailed they're checks back to them.

Bosses should yell at workers for mess ups they just need to know the difference in abuse and punishment

I don't abuse or curse at my employess, I feel like waving the gun around gets the point across just fine.

That's how all of my last managers have been in this job and my last one. Last time I had a manager where I was being micromanaged to hell and back was over a decade ago when I worked retail

My managers nowadays are perfectly fine assigning me a project and just checking in once every week or two

At my last job I (as an individual contributor, not a manager or supervisor or anything) used to be the one to tell my manager when I was traveling for work "hey I'm gonna be out of office between x and y dates, I got something on the other side of the country I'm gonna go work on"
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
Which was not the normal dynamic for that role lmao
