First I want to say thanks to the creator of PicoDrive !!! HOWEVER I have a very dumb question to ask ... I have a R4 SDHC RTS LITE , most of my emulators are .NDS file extensions, this new Picodrive has a .3ds file extention, SO my question is where the hell do I copy and paste the file (.3ds) and how do I run it after ??!! THANKS 1000x in advance,
With the exception of Gateway and Sky3DS, flashcards can't run 3DS games. You'll need to install the .cia version.

Hmm.... not sure why that's happening. Anyone tried Snatcher with RetroArch's PicoDrive core before?
on o3ds even 32x 3d games run much better it has a wierd issue tough star wars arcade has a black bar over the radar so we cant see the enemy fighters this doesnt happen on retroarch picodrive any idea why?

Also any chance you do some digging on ps1 emulator from retroarch? by changing afew stuff like you did to other cores n3ds could get full speed ps1 emulation perhaps?

To answer your question, you can just compile libretro's pcsx-rearmed with the unai gpu plugin instead of peops and you can get better performance, even full speed, on many games. I also used a custom frontend instead of retroarch.

Sorry for being off topic, if anybody has questions about this you can start a new thread or DM me so not to derail the thread anymore.

Noticed the official libretro repository has this in the makefile, but commented out (sorry for the large size, unintentional):

hay bubble2k16,
great emulator build for the 3ds once again,
im really enjoying all your emus on my new 3dsxl SNES ver
(especially the SNES one) as I can play all of my SNES games error free! (even super Mario 3, Yoshi's island and star fox (sfx chip games).

for picodrive for 3ds,
since I have some of my mega drive/cd games already progressed through with their saves on my pico drive for PSP (v1.51b),
can I import my existing saves for some mgeadrive and cd games from my pico drive psp -> pico drive 3ds,
since the pico drive emu uses the same fork as the psp one?

After some testing, the format of the saves that pciodrive 3ds uses for mega dive games & Sega CD games is:

.sram (take the .srm save for said game from picodrive psp and rename it to .sram)
This is the battery save, not state.

I got the saves for megadrive games working fine,

but for Sega CD games, when I go to load these games, I get a
"RAM is not intiliased, please rest and go to console options to format".

Shining Force CD
Sonic CD

how can I get my existing CD game saves working on pico drive 3ds?

v0.94 Released (24 Mar 2018)
This is a port of notaz's PicoDrive emulator to the old 3DS / 2DS. Although PicoDrive is already highly optimized for ARM processors, if ported as is, it still doesn't run full speed for all Mega Drive games on the old 3DS / 2DS, as it's evident in the RetroArch's version. So this port heavily relies on the 3DS's 2nd core to emulate the FM synthesized music for the YM2612 FM chip to achieve 60 FPS. But the 2nd core on the old 3DS is unfortunately not fast enough to generate the FM synthesized music at a full 44100Hz, so sounds are generated at 30000Hz on an Old 3DS. It sounds ok for many games, except for those that use high-pitched notes or sound samples...

Hello. I made icons and banners for your emulators which you can freely use in your future updates, hope you will like them :)
Also, I can make same styled icon and banner for pc-engine emulator, but I need to know which game is associated with this platform because I never used it.

Sorry if this is a dumb question but does this app include all these games or do I need to install all these games?

@bubble2k16 one more design for banners for your emulators inspired by Anemone banner

They look good... but I'll probably not have the time now to work on the emulators for the time being.

Hmm... I'm not sure where they go either... Have gotta pull out the codes and read them when I have the time.

We have no other choice but wait :vul2:

Also I can prepare 240x400 banners for top screen for inner interface, so you`ll have all graphics when there is free time to work on emulators.
Your emulators have the best UI among other emulators for 3DS :yay:

Edit: added bigger banners for inner interface made from banners for home menu.

In Chapter 4 "Labyrinth" of "Sonic the Hedgehog 1 (GEN)", the game becomes very slow (on old 3ds), and the ring count is not showing correctly.

Did I post in this thread yet? I can't remember, but this is awesome! I remember using jEnesis on the DS and it worked really well already. So I bet this is even better on newer hardware. Thank you, creator.

Just chiming in to confirm this issue linked here @bubble2k16
For some reason the audio for Sonic 3 and several other games has this weird delay going on that makes the music sound completely wrong across the whole game. Any chance you could look into this sometime? I'd appreciate it a lot, since I mostly use this to play Sonic 3 on the go. :P

It sounds exactly the same as the retroarch picodrive; the sound engine just isn't super accurate. Genesis GX is, but often can't keep full speed even on a new 3DS.

Hi, I was looking foward to the answer with no results....

Wich is the format to use to run cheats?

Does anyone have a template? Thanks.

EDIT: I forgot the readme instructions.

I have a bit of a strange question regarding save files.

I've been playing on picodrive through Retroarch for a while until I discovered the native 3ds version and I want to transfer my save files so that I can carry on my progress playing the same game in the 3DS picodrive. Is this possible?

I'm using the same rom file and I've located the .srm file being used by Retroarch/picodrive but not quite sure what to do next. I made a save of the game in 3DS picodrive and I see it created several files including a .sram file of the same filesize as the .srm file. Renaming the .srm to .sram didn't work, but it was worth a try! So is there a way to convert my save file so I can pick up playing through picodrive without Retroarch?

Thanks for your help :)
