I treid getting Yoshi's wooly world from the freeshop but couldn't find it. I installed the ticket from cia angle and went the to the eshop, but they asked me to update so I was like I'm outta here.

I don't know how. I have luma and arm9 cfw (or a9hl or whatever it was called). Can I just update my device directly from settings?

Pretty much. Just make a backup of your NAND and update Luma3DS before you update to be on the safe side.

i have the same question for you ¿why pirating you too you console?
First becouse my mother doesnt want spent money in dlcs and expensive videogames (and i dont want spent money in games but yes in piracy cartbridges)
Second Becouse i pirated every console since all my existen and its confort for me

hmm good point all you said are decent and sounds bit pissed and offended for some reason in previous comment (for dont understand context or i m not sure) and wow this forum have hight level english than my in part its great but another part i hate it becouse i like "feel better than..." but its ok

If you have A9LH then yes, you can update it as long that you use Luma as your CFW

Ran F3X and it said my card is ok.

Does this rule out the possibility of the issue being with my card?

Make a backup of your nand and your data folder. Format the system (tiny format doesn't erase your data) and reinstall the Game. If it works, the issue was something with your nand/game ticket. If not, it's other thing

Are you using the right encryted title key? Use the little green square attached to the big orange button no that title key site to auto update your encrypted title key. I think it's under the gear -> update. Also make sure you're using at least Luma3DS 6.6 and freeShop 2.2.0.

Anything tied to that NNID will go poof.

Google 3DS titlekeys on your computer.
Click the green button that has a picture of a QR code on it attached to an orange button.
A QR code will fill the screen. Leave it.
On your 3DS open freeShop.
Tap the cog.
Tap the updates tab.
Tap the little button with the picture of a QR code.
The camera will open.
Scan the QR code on your computer screen.
Press Start then Select and freeShop will close.
Reopen freeShop and you'll be able to search for games.
