I haven't tried (I prefer to use ciangel for the updates just to be safe) but I think accepting directly instead of going to the eshop page to get the update should work. Otherwise I suppose there's a risk of having your dlc deleted if they're pirated.

Well I tested it using Terraria. (small simple) and it works fine.
By the way What difference does CIAngel really do compared to this method here? I do like the download cia for later use but other then that?

and even less than that don't buy games anymore
Yeah personally I still buy the games I love and treasure (Zero Escape, Zelda, VVVVVV...), the ones I pirate to try/keep but not love, if it wasn't for the hacking scene I would have played a little then resold anyway, meaning no loss for Nintendo (whoever I sold it to is now not buying a new game) but a bit of loss to me. Most people that pirate games would never have bought them anyway or would resell them after playing. If they like them enough to want to own them they'll probably buy them anyway.

How long does it typically take for the cache to extract?
Edit: Of course it would finish as soon as I post this.
Edit 2: Getting "Failed to finalize TMD install: 0xC86044D2".
Edit 3: Apparently this means that the partition is full, but my SD has roughly 10 GB free. Meh.

Alright so I bought the game Infinite Dunamis from the eShop because it wasn't available on CIAngel or freeshop yet (and didn't want to play it on Android). I dumped the encTitleKeys.bin, decTitleKeys.bin and ticket so just upload it to that title site for all to share? Or am I missing anything or just upload a .cia to that iso site? I would rather help the database if possible.

First, I'd recommend removing that link, we're not allowed to link to that site. And second, yes, just upload the decTitleKeys using the upload form.

I think the only difference would be that with CIAngel you know for sure your 3ds is only sending a request to download and install the update, and nothing else. Maybe the game pop-up method does the same and is safe, i don't know. I guess it's just a preference of mine, and since CIAngel supports direct install then at most i'm just taking a couple extra seconds to search for the title.

Sorry if this was answered already, but does this support downloading on sleep mode?

Edit:
Got my answer by reading the previous posts:
Don't do that yet. It will suspend the download I believe, but won't resume it properly and will likely fail. It's possible that it resumes it and installs fine (it has happened), but it's a big risk.

i dont know whats is wrong
im using a O3ds and a N3ds, and in both my download speeds are AWFUL in some games
even though wifi suffers from interferences and stuff.... i dont think 80~200kb/s download speeds from a 50MB conection are ok
oddly enough.... other games download at 1.5mb/s
just downloaded azure strike gunvolt, which is 300mb, TAKE ME 30-40 MINUTES....

Well, think I got DLC and Updates all figured out for freeShop 1.3

They won't be listed with normal titles or searchable. When you queue a game for download it will auto-queue any relevant updates/DLC for that game (this can be disabled from settings when those are implemented). Additionally, you will be able to view a list of games you have installed already and it will have little indicators if they have updates/DLC not installed. That's essentially how it's going to work, without going into specifics.

Will be several days before this is done. I'm reworking the game cache now. All titles will have working icons (except DSiWare, I'm not sure where to fetch those), and I'm adding genre info to games. Though it won't be useful until I implement filtering options in settings.

Will the new update also allow typing japanese letters on the keyboard to search for import games?

I won't be adding japanese character support for a long time, it's a low priority and is more difficult. I will be adding ability to search games by title id, though. Not sure if it will be in this next update though.

Actually. Most titles provide title metadata for multiple languages. Most JP region titles have English title data. Perhaps I'll just have it use English when it's available and only use Japanese when English doesn't exist. Of course, I imagine many JP exclusive titles may not have English, but better than nothing.

EDIT: also I'm assuming most people don't care about demos, since I've heard no complaints. I'm not adding them, at least not now. Though some special demos are already on freeShop.
