Yep, I know I can change the screen size in options. But I never saw that the information was replaced in text (when using the biggest screen option).
My mistake. I must have been thinking of doom. Yeah, it just removes the hud altogether. Having that info on the bottom screen is a good idea.

I think this Quake 1 port is fantastic! More 1990s PC games should be ported to the 3DS imo! Games like these will be great:

Baldurs Gate
Half-Life
Quake 2
Descent: Conflict freespace
Star Craft
Command & Conquer
Dungeon Keeper
Heroes of might & Magic 3
Diablo
Warcraft 2

I don't think any of those are open source.

There's an open source recreation of HoM&M3 being worked on, but it's not official and it's buggy.

When you say first, you mean the first 3ds fps you've played right

Haha. Actually. No. I played Doom 1 in 1993/1994. It scared the shit out of me. I was just a kid. After that I have never really liked the fps genre. I have been more into Nintendo, indie and Japanese games. So, yeah, I have tried some fps games like Goldeneye 64, Halo, Half Life 2 etc. But only for like 2 minutes. I never liked them. This is the first time I really enjoy a fsp game :D
So thank you very much for your Quake 1 port, as it is FANTASTIC! =) Hope we will see more ports from you in the future :D

I assumed it automatically launched it on startup. It says something in the console about it when I start the game. But like I said, it scrolls by pretty fast and I can't page to it. Is there something else I need to do?
It doesn't, you have to create a shortcut for the mod

It doesn't, you have to create a shortcut for the mod
Oh yeah. I did that. I place the mod files in a folder named 'portal', and placed that folder in sd:/3ds/ctrquake/

I then created an xml named 'portal' in the same ctrquake dir. This is whats in it.

Code:
<shortcut>
<name>portal</name>
<executable>/3ds/ctrquake/ctrquake.3dsx</executable>
<arg>portal</arg>
</shortcut>

And the game runs? If it runs then the mod should be working. Try playing the demo mentioned on the mod repo
That's what I was saying. As I launch the game, the game's console scrolls a bunch of text before the menu comes up. For a second I can see something about portal config.cfg error or something. It scrolls too fast to read it, and I can't page up to it to see what it said.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I was hoping that you or someone else familiar with this game could take a look at the mod config and see why it doesn't work.
