@Wolfvak Hi awesome work on this btw thanks.
I've edited your source code and changed the arm9payload.bin location but when I compile it, it hasn't had no affect. The locations mentioned by you are set instead by default. All I do is run make and that's it. Could you please tell me if or what I am doing wrong? Thanks in advance

Are you sure you ran 'xxd -i chain.bin > ..\source\chain.h' and then ran 'make' on the main BootAnim9 directory?

Keep in mind that the thing is streaming from the SD card. If you have a slow one, you're screwed, since it currently is *sortof* calibrated to my speed (Class 10 Kingston 32GB)
I was thinking about this a few hours ago! Thanks for confirming that! I work at Best Buy as of about a year ago, so I can actually get a lot of higher end stuff now. I'll keep that in mind. Thank you!

You might wanna keep @chaoskagami's advice as well, try reducing the framerate to something between 20 and 25, see if that works better.

It worked. Thanks a lot for your help
Oh, you're welcome ofc. Just make sure to ALWAYS read the GitHub README for any other project, it's there for a reason

I've dropped the top to 15 and removed the bottom. It's like 95% speed which I guess is okay for the time being.
Kind of okay. What's your current SD card? And is it a N3DS or O3DS (only asking due to uSD to SD differences)

Uhh what?
You should make BootAnim9 the arm9loaderhax.bin (main payload) and make BootCTR9 the arm9payload.bin either on SD card root or on sdmc:/anim/arm9payload.bin

what i have is this:
Root: arm9loaderhax = CtrBootManager9
in the a9lh.cfg (the ctrboot manager config file)
I have AuReiNand with the path as the location of the BootAnim.bin File, that one should load the arm9payload.bin file(after playing the animation) that is acctually the arm9loaderhax.bin file from AuReiNand. but it doessen't work it just freezes when trying to boot after CtrBootMananger.

Well, I'm truly sorry but I can't test EVERY single possible A9LH configuration, that's why I posted earlier the one I (and some testers) have tested and concluded as working fine.
I have personally never used CtrBootManager9 or BootCTR9 or ctrboot9 or any other loader. As such, I can't provide support for them.

Just follow the instructions in the OP, BootCTR9 has been confirmed as working as a secondary payload.

No worry's just tryed to inform that that certain setup ain't working and that future support would be awesome, i really prefer ctrBoot9 over BootCtr, but i can stick with my current setup just fine =)

*becomes sad that now no one will try to make it non-a9lh*

(no im not getting a9lh)
I've been thinking about making a menuhax one. The main issue, as dumb as it sounds, is : What will it boot after it's done?

I mean, I could always make it just exit to home menu, due to the new *hax feature, but then users wouldn't be able to use menuhax as a HBL entrypoint.

On the other hand, if I make it launch to the HBL, then the delays would be considerable because every time you exit an app it would load the boot animation (again) and then load the HBL. A way around this could be to write some sort of flag that indicates that the boot animation has already appeared, but from userland the main option would be to use a file flag, and those are not pretty at all

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Do the animations delay the boot for their duration?
Uh, if I get you correctly, then yes, nothing system-related will load while the boot animation is being displayed

I can't follow exactly what's the problem. But I have this (bootAnim9) as my armloaderhax.bin and the arm9payload is CtrBootManager9. Having the animation first is really convenient because that gives you added time for whatever button press you have to get to the CtrBM9 menu if needed. The order shouldn't make a difference to it working or not though, probably named a file or path wrong.

i don't use CtrBm9 as boot menu every time, it's my backup feature, it will only load when pressed Select when i power on, and having the animation first, would require me everytime i want to acces decrypt or what ever to first wait for the animation to finish before i have to press select, which makes it a delay between power and select, while powering on with select already pressed will now load BootCtr9, the animation is not that much of a gain to make it worth waiting for the select press, if that makes sense.
