    • What is AdrenalineDocs?

AdrenalineDocs creates a custom Adrenaline Icon and Background (with Game Manual support) for your PS1 & PSP games on a Playstation Vita running custom firmware. You can find links to the Bubbles, Installation Instructions, Previews and a full list of bubbles at the AdrenalineDocs Google Site: https://sites.google.com/view/adrenalinedocs/home or use the Tabs at the top of this post.

    • Can I use an ISO instead of a PBP file and vice versa?

No. Each Bubble is looking for a specific file at a specific location. All "PSN Releases" are looking for a .PBP file, PSP Bubbles "Not on PSN" are looking for a .ISO file and PS1 "Not on PSN" are looking for a .PBP file. There are programs that can convert an ISO to PBP but I would strongly suggest NOT using these as some games will flat out refuse to run, while others may encounter crashes etc. Only use the type of file a bubble was created for. To ensure maximum compatibility, always use the PSN version of a game.

PSN/Not on PSN, what is the difference?

"PSN Releases" pertains to games that were officially released as a digital title on the PSN Store. "Not on PSN" pertains to games that were never released digitally on the PSN Store. The great thing about the "PSN Releases" is that because they were "officially" released, they include an official Game Manual in addition to being tested for compatibility appropriate for retail use. On the other side of things, "Not on PSN" suffers from the opposite. No Game Manual and limited compatibility. Some will play great while others may have small/non game-breaking slowdown or other visible oddities. In the worst of cases, the game may have severe game-breaking bugs, crashes, slowdown or lockups.

What should my Folder Structure / Filenames look like?

Each bubble package has the proper folder structure all ready to go. The simplest method is to copy the pspemu folder present within each zipped package to the root directory of the ux0 partition on the PSVita. Refer below for proper Folder Structure/Filenames.

      PS1 PSN Releases
      Folder Structure
      pspemu/PSP/GAME/TITLEID
      Filename
      EBOOT.PBP

      PS1 Not on PSN
      Folder Structure
      pspemu/PSP/GAME/TITLEID
      Filename
      EBOOT.PBP

      PSP PSN Releases
      Folder Structure
      pspemu/PSP/GAME/TITLEID
      Filename
      EBOOT.PBP

      PSP Not on PSN
      Folder Structure
      pspemu/ISO
      Filename
      nameofbubble.ISO

Can I change the behavior/options of a bubble?

If you have Adrenaline Bubble Manager installed on your Vita, it should recognize any installed bubbles. You can then make changes such as PS Button behavior, save states, driver mode etc. You can also edit a bubble's behavior by launching the game bubble, then pressing the PS button for several seconds until a menu pops up. From here, choose Settings, then use either L or R trigger to cycle between the various categories.

      Can I add and/or edit a manual?

One of the reasons each bubble was given a Cover Page (the first page you see when opening the Game Manual) was to facilitate adding a custom manual and to easier allow the adding of a full manual in the future without the need to recreate the bubble.

Keep the following in mind when adding a manual of your own:

      1. To edit or add your own game manual, open the corresponding bubble.VPK using the PC program 7-Zip. You should now see some folders. Open the sce_sys folder and inside your should see the Manual folder. Drag and drop your manual images to this folder (make sure they are named correctly and are set to the proper dimensions). Images can also be added to any currently installed bubble by navigating to ux0:app and then finding the game's TitleID folder. Inside your will find the same sce_sys folder with the Manual folder inside of it.
      2. Filenames must adhere to the following naming structure: 001.png 002.png 003.png 004.png etc. Failure to skip a number or changing the 3 digit numbering structure will cause your manual image to display a message that it is corrupt.
      3. If possible, try and stick with the Vita's screen resolution of 960 width x 544 height. However, if you need to use a custom size or something that is larger, then the following applies:
      • Manual images can not exceed a width of 960. The maximum height allowed for an image is dependent on the width used. If you set your image width to 480, the height can be set to 1500. If you set your image width to 960, a height of 803 can be used. If sticking with a width of 960, I would set the height to 750 as I encountered errors when using anything higher that resulted in random manual pages loading incorrectly. Keep in mind that any width less than 960 will result in the vita scaling the width up to match the vita's screen resolution of 960 which may result in the image appearing with some blurriness. To prevent the Vita from scaling up your image, create a blank image with a width of 960 and set the height no larger than 750. You can then use the 960 width image as a template to place your smaller image on top of it to preserve it's aspect ratio.

Why is Final Fantasy Tactics listed under both PSP bubble sections?

Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions for the PSP is present in both sections (PSN Releases and Not on PSN) so that those that want to use the patch that fixes the slowdown can use the Not on PSN version (ISO) and those that want the original unedited game can use the PSN Releases version (EBOOT).

    • My bubble won't load

This occurs when you haven't installed AdrBubbleBooter or are using an outdated version. All current bubbles were compiled using version 1.1. There is a link to AdrBubbleBooter 1.1 under the Installation section on both the PS1 & PSP bubble pages. Also, make sure to check your folder structure and/or EOOBT or ISO is named correctly.

Why is the logo near the start box misaligned?

This is caused by using an outdated version of AdrBubbleBooter or neglecting to install it altogether. Grab the current version from the installation section from one of the bubble pages.

How do I uninstall a bubble?

Tap and hold the bubble's icon, then tap the smaller circle with 3 dots and choose delete. You can also delete a bubble using the Vita's content manager application.
      Bubble Compatibility Notes

      PSP
      • Bust-A-Move Deluxe
(Make sure to repeatedly press the START button to skip the first logo screen that appears or the game will freeze. This issue is also present on a real PSP).
      • Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce
(Make sure you don't change the driver of this bubble from March33 to Inferno or the game will crash to the Adrenaline XMB).
      • Pangya Fantasy Golf
(Make sure your ISO is patched to remove the copy protection or else the game will stall on a black screen after booting).
      • Star Wars: Lethal Alliance
(Due to a bug in Adrenaline Bubble Booter, changing the default driver mode of this Bubble (March33) to Inferno and/or NP9660 will cause it to crash to Adrenaline's XMB).
      • WWE SmackDown! vs. Raw 2010
(This Bubble has been compiled with a CPU Speed of 222/111. Make sure you don't change this setting or the Bubble will fail to load).
      • WWE SmackDown! vs. Raw 2011
(This Bubble has been compiled with a CPU Speed of 222/111. Make sure you don't change this setting or the Bubble will fail to load).

      Unsupported Games

      PSP
      • Beowulf: The Game
(Boots fine under Adrenaline but locks up when launched from the Livearea. Adrenaline Bubble Booter Bug).
      • Crimson Room Reverse
(Black screen immediately after booting up. Does not run under Adrenaline).
      • EyePet
(Game does not have access to the Vita's camera which results in being unable to progress past the tutorial).
      • Jackass the Game
(Incompatible with Adrenaline. Game freezes during initial loading screen).

    • PS1 PSN Releases
These instructions assume your Playstation Vita is already running custom firmware with Adrenaline installed. If you need help setting this up, please use the guide at the following link before continuing: https://vita.hacks.guide/

      Prerequisites

      1. AdrBubbleBooter Installation
Copy AdrBubbleBooterInstaller.vpk to your Vita and install it using VitaShell. After installation, launch the bubble from the Vita homescreen. Follow the on-screen prompts to install the necessary files.
      2. Reboot / Cleanup
Reboot the Vita to finalize the installation. You may now uninstall/remove the AdrBubbleBooter Bubble from the Vita's homescreen.

      Bubble Installation

      1. Bubble Download / Transfer to Vita
Download the appropriate bubble for your game (see the Download Spoiler below).
The bubbles are zipped into folders that will make the installation process simple. Open your downloaded bubble and you will see a pspemu folder. Transfer this folder to the root directory of ux0 on your Vita. The VPK for the bubble is located inside the TitleID folder. The TitleID folder is the folder inside the GAME folder. Below is an example using the TitleID NPUJ00553.

        Example: ux0:pspemu/PSP/GAME/NPUJ00553/nameofbubble.vpk

      2. Bubble Installation
Using VitaShell, install the bubble. Now all you need to do is place your PS1 EBOOT (not included) into the TitleID folder. Make sure it is named EBOOT.PBP
Below is an example of the proper folder structure using the game Alundra.

        Example: ux0:pspemu/PSP/GAME/NPUJ00553/EBOOT.PBP

      PSP Not on PSN

Transfer this folder to the root directory of ux0 on the Vita. The VPK for the bubble is located inside the ISO folder.

        Example: ux0:pspemu/ISO/nameofbubble.vpk

      2. Bubble Installation
Using VitaShell, install the bubble. Now all you need to do is place your PSP ISO (not included) into the ISO folder. Make sure your ISO has the same name as the installation bubble. When naming your ISO, DO NOT ADD [V3] TO THE FILENAME.
The following is an example of the proper folder structure/file name using the game Crisis Core - Final Fantasy VII:

        Example: ux0:pspemu/ISO/Crisis Core - Final Fantasy VII.ISO

In order for these bubbles to run correctly, your game needs to be in the exact folder as outlined in the installation instructions. If you're using something like categories lite, you would need to change the path to your game using something like Adrenaline Bubble Manager.

Nothing is stopping you from making your own Bubbles, but I don't have any intentions of releasing the templates I use to make mine.

Is anyone working on 3.71 support for Adrenaline? I mean downgrading is an option but I don't wanna take the risk just to play PSP and PS1 games. It would be nice to have it on 3.71 but if not no big deal just throwing the suggestion. Considering 3.60-3.73 can be modded adrenaline can atleast support all firmware.

I dunno why you dont just downgrade. If you can follow directions, it's pretty much risk free.

I heard it's a chance of a brick if something goes wrong which is why I rather not. Besides that the only thing I'm missing is the adrenaline functionality since 3.71 isnt supported. My vita games work.fine and my SD2VITA works fine.

My Galaxy can play everything else with my controller which was why it wasnt a big deal but I personally prefer a handheld vs draining my battery. But for the vita all I hear is downgrade to 3.60.or 3.65 to my knowledge it's a pure CFW. I dont mind running the exploit on my 3.71 because I have a modded switch that you have to use a jig to load the CFW on it.

    I'm.mainly.concerned of.the brick

Been hard at work since my original post. Over 100 new bubbles have been added for PSP games, and well over 100 new manuals as well. I'm adding new stuff on a daily basis so check the site often.

This looks like a really cool app. I currently use Adrenaline Bubble Manager, but if this has inclusion for all the bubbles I currently use I'll definitely consider switching.
Are there any other options for the style of bubble created? I kind of like the ones I have set up from ABM - any way of keeping my bubbles looking the way they are yet adding the 'docs' functions from this app?

This isn't an app, rather, a collection of bubbles. The layout is already predetermined so what you see is what it will look like. You can change things under the hood though like driver mode, PS button behavior etc.

Wow, the Vita community sure is dead around here

I have added another hundred or so Bubbles. This will more than likely be my last major update. Some final-ish stats:

    979 Total Bubbles
    - 277 Bubbles for the PS1 of which 209 cover the entire North American catalog released on PSN with the remaining 68 being Bubbles not released on the PSN Store.
    - 702 Bubbles for the PSP of which 391 cover the entire North American catalog released on PSN with the remaining 311 rounding out the collection to encompass the entire PSP North American library.

    621 Total Manuals
    - 260 PS1 Manuals (209 released on PSN, 51 not released on PSN)
    - 361 PSP Manuals (274 released on PSN, 87 not released on PSN)

Been starting to use these now and they're pretty good. Ran into a trouble with Dracula X Chronicles which might be a bit out of scope, but since you made a bubble I assume there's a way to get it working.

Basically had to run through some hoops to get psp eboots going in adrenaline. (mostly npdrm_free). Those work now except for when you try to boot into SotN from within the "original games" menu of Dracula X. Just get a black screen and then an error, and that goes for whether running Adrenaline or through a bubble. I think I can edit it to boot from ISO with bubblemanager, but since you made this for eboots I'm curious if there's a way to get it working.

The "PSN Releases" bubbles are for officially released games on PSN. The bubble is pointing specifically to the game's EBOOT file. I strongly recommend NOT using a program to convert an ISO to EBOOT as some games simply won't run and/or encounter errors. If at all possible, always play the game with the official PSN release as they are pretty much guaranteed to work. Also, if you haven't done so already, make sure you install npdrm_free in your seplugins folder and add it to your game.txt.

If you know how to hack your Vita, you should be able to find a place to get these "official" releases

Unfortunately, all 900+ bubbles are around 5GB; I simply don't have the google drive space to do that. I'm not sure about mobile, but on a PC if you select multiple files, Google Drive automatically zips them for you when you start your download.

Actually even the ISO file run from a bubble seems to fail to boot into SotN. So it's something about the mod the bubblebooter did to adrenaline.

To double-check, I re-installed the bubble and it boots fine. I created a new file and started up the beginning of the game without issue (I'm using the official EBOOT PSN release). Just get the EBOOT PSN release.
