Hacking Question Regarding game updates

Quick question. For games that have multiple updates, is only the latest update needed? Does installing only the latest update also cover the added content/bug fixes/patches that were released in earlier updates?

Or do we need to go through and install each game update as it was released?

AFAIK you only need to install the latest update nsp, since it contains all the previous updates as well.

That's what I was unsure of, if the latest even contained the previous updates. I assumed it did, but figured I'd double check and make sure anyway. Thank you sir!
