I think the point that was trying to be made here by tk_saturn was that these "malfunctioning/fake" Acekards that are apparently "preloaded" to work with 1.4 will most likely be screwed in the event that Nintendo's newer firmwares block them out. This is really important information for anyone who has one of these, considering when that time comes, wherever they bought their card from will have the ability to say, "Hey, we only promised up to 1.4." Yes, you could just not update your DSi, but when there are Acekards that are upgradable, why would you keep your other one?

At the same time, we have to consider the possibility that there are Acekard 2.1's being repackaged as Acekard 2is. Perhaps there are real AK2i's with the Actel chip, but what is being ignored by Acekard's original post is the line "we do not make these anymore". It doesn't make them fakes, per se, but if the technology is dated, it's a bit unreliable. Now, whose fault it is that they are in circulation is not the issue, it's the fact that they are in circulation which is.

I want to thank RHS for allowing me to open up a ticket and replace my card. I'll be sending it out ASAP (as I am a college student and don't have much time to get to the post office when it is open..). I understand what kind of business you're in and that it's full of holes, however I suggest you take a closer look at your product and test them on at least a DS/L/i, just to save you problems like this as well as save you money.

Thank you for your suggestion. When we had the original AK2i (non-Actel). We upgraded everyone to 1.4 so that we knew everyone we sent out worked just fine.

When we had the Actel chips (BTW, we tried to contact Acekard to verify them, but never got response). They were all pre-loaded with 1.4. We had no way of knowing if they were real or fakes. We had to trust our supplier to believe they were real because they came from the same manufacturer.

The issue with Acekard 2 is even more complicated. We randomly test the Acekard 2. However, we don't test the save function. It simply takes to long to test the save function. We usually load a game to make sure it plays and then let it go.

We certainly would like to test every flashcart before we send it out but that costs money and takes time. We just can't afford to do that. We do test few of them when we got new shipment from our supplier.

So, realhotstuff, what were to happen if I ordered an AceKard2i today?

I would risk getting a fake one, or something?

Is their any way we will be able to tell when you recieved the new carts on your website?

I believe I said it before. I'll post it here.

Ron,

You really need to put some security on your website.

If you google the telephone number you have on RHS 888-2426489

There are entries in google for a unsecured version of your website with file access

http://www.ronwang.com/

Not only that, if you google "EZ Flash Vi + 2GB $28" and everything else on RHS, it appears first on google's results and above RHS.

Oooh, there's a file there called "kill_tk_saturn.txt"

Nice find

Edit: Don't click on 'catalog'

It's been unsecured for months http://66.102.9.132/search?q=cache:uULhqWB...=clnk&gl=uk so has nothing to do with me before anyone shoots me. The entire open site is indexed on Google and I imagine many people have landed on it.

I could have easily kept quiet, leaving the website open to hacking and someone would have seriously compromised the site eventually. So I think i've done Ron a favour, by posting this.

As it is it's already been hacked http://www.ronwang.com/pub/ by someone.

4coolday apparently has a virus on their homepage http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=206084 and I imagine a hacker is responsible for that. Ron needs to sort his website to prevent such things happening to his.

Thank you for pointing this out. The site is for development purpose only. Our developer should have closed it after he finished the job.

The cache of the ip 66.102.9.132 was long time ago. Our server is on a different ip now. I don't think that ip can be hacked. Again, that site is for development only. It doesn't have much info there. It will not do much harm even it got hacked.

I just bought the acekard 2i today from you guys around 11:30 EST. So will I be getting the new ones you guys are getting or will it be the "defective" ones?

We will have the non-Actel ones by Friday.

These are not defective ones. They are the ones with Actel.
If you want the non-Actel one, please email us with your order number so we can hold your order until Friday if it has not been shipped out yet.

No, but they are clones. They are also 100% Illegal to buy, sell and import. Genuine Acekards on the otherhand are prefectly legal.

Well in any case its too late they have been shipped. But you guys duid say that we can return them for the new ones

which I will do if something is wrong with it...

That is certainly no problem with us.

I had left a bad review of Acekard 2.1 on RHS to warn customers about the "bad batch", RHS took my review down...

If they have rectified the problem they could have at least made a comment on my review saying they have fixed the issue.

I guess sales are more important then being fair to the customers, offering $ back hoping the people won't follow through with it , selling bad acekard 2.1s ....

Bad business to take customers reviews down. I retract all positive statements I have made about RHS.

Well even if they are defective or whatever I have an DSL so I wont have a problem right? Because from what Ive been reading the issue happens with the firmware update if thats the problem I may not have to worry about it huh?

Well im not going to bash these guys around so longs my backups play and save correctly Im not worried but of course if they don't or it just stops magically working we will have some problems...

Because they are clones, there is no guarentee that future versions of AKAIO or the official Acekard software will work with them.
