I wonder how they're going to find a different entry point , hmm.
From what I know, they are currently using HBL to load iosuhax and the rednand, but they are trying to find a way without having to connect to the internet. I was thinking if they could use iosu to install a offline version of the homebrew channel onto the Sysnand system menu, then you could load stuff while being completely offline.

Well, it should just allow you to install games, such as (I'm just naming a random one) TLOZ: Twilight princess, the USA version, without a title.tik file, along with several other patches , and rednand.
Do you mean the ability to install titles without tiks to sysnand or just to rednand?

isn't it possible to disable sigchecks on sysnand ? now that we have the IOSU exploit ?
That's what I was thinking originally that they could possibly do, to be able to install a "offline HBL channel" into the sysnand, though that has a brick risk, and from what I know, they want it to be as safe as possible.

not with what we have right now, overtime yeah, we'd need to patch and exploit mcp i think
Ah, so your just going to use strictly rednand when its released I presume? I mean, you could just self-host the channel, or try to use something like loadiine.ovh's auto launch program? I really don't have any other ideas.

I too thank him for his work and all that are working on this. I know often people get mad, but even if for some reason this didn't come out, I would be disappointed sure, but not mad at the people who have been spending their time working on it.

it's no worse than if you pirated
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
it's probably better, because not all keys on key sites are stolen

plus piracy is not always an option

i heard a related story for a dev actually

    from a dev*

DRMs are getting stronger these days
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
they bought their own game on a key site and checked where they came from and it turned out they were review copies he had given out by email to someone
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    *all* of them
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
no storefront I'm aware of (at least on pc) requires the devs to pay for the keys they generate
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
they don't lose money doing this, even if someone decide to chargeback
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
so that seems to be a pretty common thing, i kinda blame the dev for that one though as they were giving out like 5 keys to someone just because they asked for multiple copies for review for whatever reason and there were multiple people doing this. he should've seen the red flags
