Hi all,

hoping this is the right place to put requests for help. I bought a Wii U with a dead eMMC a while ago (error code 160-2215) and after installing RedNAND got it up and running. Now I've soldered an SD internally to replace the eMMC (following the MLC2SD guide but just using a micro SD card adapter instead of the MLC2SD board) and am hoping to transfer the RedNAND MMC to the soldered SD. This old guide comes up from Google search, but it assumes the on-board eMMC is fine rather than being a soldered SD (I'd prefer to transfer from RedNAND directly to the soldered SD if possible, so that anything already set up stays that way, but if I have to start again then that's how it is). I tried following the "Rebuilding the MMC" steps from this guide, but when I select "Patch (sd) and boot IOS (slc)" it gets stuck on "Jumping to IOS... GO GO GO". Clearly I've messed something up, but I don't know enough to know how to troubleshoot.

Thanks!

For Patch (sd) and boot IOS (slc) to work you need related files on 1st FAT32 partition of SD
If you just want the data on the Rednand then just backup the games saves and import them back to the OS on the emmc/now your micro SD.

As far as I know, the "related files" are on the SD; I have the files from isfshax, mlc system titles in /wafel_install, and wafel_setup_mlc.ipx and 5payldr.ipx in wiiu/ios_plugins. I have some other files on the SD too. If other files are required (or if having other files can mess up the install) then that'd probably be why!
With regards to transferring from RedNAND directly to the eMMC / soldered SD, you're saying that isn't possible -- good to know. I've already backed up the tokens from the directions of the "old guide" I mentioned, so once I've got the soldered SD working then I'll just continue that guide.
[EDIT] I cleared the SD card files and went through the install steps for ISFSHax and the MLC2SD guide again, and it all seems to be working! Only thing, after I'd left it installing for a while the light was flashing red, which according to the guide means a fatal error occurred. Despite that, the Wii U is up and running without the SD card now, so... hopefully the fatal error isn't too fatal?
