Alright, update on my DS2 worries, Nintendo say they're gonna return my SD card, at the cost that they're going to delete everything.

So I'm wondering if there is a way to recover my files. Preferably my saves.

Anyone know?

It might be possible, that is, if they don't decide to format the card.

Let's hope they do the lazy way.

What about CTRL+A, Delete? I'm assume that's what a quick format is.

Possible. As long as they don't fill the whole cart with jibberish data, everything should be recoverable. If on the other hand they decide to put the whole card full of rubbish data, You Sir are screwed. :3

They're not THAT smart.

My DSi's problem relates to the ribbon cable. I blew into 'R' too hard and loosened it, causing it to randomly shut off. They claim that the DS2's power drain is causing it, yet I've experienced it with my retail MKDS.

As mentioned, recuva is the bomb. I have used it to recover things that I deleted months, even years ago. It takes time, depending on the size of the disc/drive, so be patient if you use it.

Alright, tomorrow's the day I get my DSi back, apparently repaired and everything. And my SD card, hopefully formatted incorrectly. I'll run a file recovery and hope for the best.

Use Glary Undelete, put your SD card in your computer's SD card slot, and do a scan. Hopefully you'll get at least 9/10 files (based off tests in my own)

But if they wrote NULLS in the data sector your stuff was in... bye bye data

Alright, I just got my DSi back. I haven't tested it yet, but my MSD is back. The drive name is the same, I'm not sure if they formatted it. I'm about to run Recuva now. Will post results.

Oh holy fuck you are kidding me!

They didn't write nulls! I'm recovering my files right now! Jesus Christ this turned out better then I thought.

Just a question, what do the little dots next to the files in Recuva mean? Red, orange and green dots.

@Xdqwerty there is health behaviour you can add to your character, then to use a health bar is lil more complicated, google n watch a few tutorial video on it, be too hard to explain here.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@BigOnYa, the character has the health behavior
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
I know you have to create a health and health max variable. Then there is a calculation you use in code to subtract width size of the health bar. Google few vids.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@BigOnYa, the "greenflatbar" is one of the preset health bars btw
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Yea you can use any bar/sprite. It will just change the width. Ok good luck and have fun. I'm off to go shoot some pool at the bar. Talk to you later.

  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@BigOnYa, why does the health behavior exist if you can just use a variable?
