Hacking Real Time Guide not working.

I'm trying to get the real time guide function working with Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia, but it won't come up. I followed the instructions on the site. I made a .txt file into a .scb file, and named it the same as my .nds file, which was called "Castlevania - Order of Ecclesia (U)". I put the .scb file into \scshell\book, but when I press L+R+START+DOWN in game, nothing happens. I just flip backwards, use the Glyph set to R, pause the game, and scroll down. I'm not surprised it's not working though. The instructions weren't written very well, and the English was a little rough, so I may have misinterpreted something.

Put it in the same directory as the rom, make sure 'enable book' for that game is set to on in the patching options and saved.
