Hacking r4isdhc.com.cn vs .com?

When it comes to R4 SDHC Dual-Core/R4 SDHC Gold, I always hear about it having a timebomb, yet I also hear if the cart says r4isdhc.com.cn instead of just .com, it has no timebomb. Is there really a difference between these cards?

According to what I heared in this forum (idk if it's true) the .com.cn card uses wood while the .com card uses a TTMenu like own kernel. The timebomb is only in the own kernel, not in wood.

I have the com.cn card. It uses wood. No timebomb probs.

.com.cn are Ace3DS clones, and they aren't supported with NTRBoot yet

Apparently the timebomb is fixable by using Reto's files. This is something I am going to test very soon as I bought the .com version.
There's not much I can really add that hasn't been added already.

Good thing I am ordering a com.cn one. Hope this will get supported by NTRBoot, either unofficially or by the same creators as the original, but I would probably not do it until I get a Switch so I can take advantage of the 3DS library.

when you say that it is not compatible with "ntrboot" do you mean that it does not work on "modified" consoles? or that does not serve to "hack" the console?

Any DS flashcard advertised to work on 3DS 7.0 or higher > works on any DS/Lite/i/3DS, modified or not (unless they are broken)

Any DS flashcard advertised to work on DSi > works on any DS/Lite, may work on unmodified DSi/3DS of certain versions, will work "normally" on DSi/3DS with an appropriate CFW

Any (slot-1) DS flashcard > works on any DS/Lite, will work on modified DSi/3DS with an appropriate forwarder (Unlaunch on DSi, "NTR Launcher" on 3DS, others)

R4isdhc.com has the Timebomb, r4isdhc.com.cn hasn't.

Keep in mind that not every flashcart from r4isdhc.com used a timebomb DSTT clone kernel. Back in the day they alternated between the DSTT clone kernel and Wood R4, timebombs weren't present in either kernels at the time. It was around 2016 when crap hit the fan and they started shoving the time bombs in their flashcarts. r4isdhc.com.cn uses a modded Wood R4 kernel, finding such models though is funky these days lol.
