Hacking R4i: Real or fake?

A few days ago I got the R4i Gold for my birhday. I helped my mom buy it on gamezway.com. A few days before my birthday, however, I went back on gamezway and all the R4s were removed! I have no idea if what I got was real or fake.

Could anyone help tell me what the suresigns would be for a real/fake? Much thanks.

P.S.: I bought the R4 because I was a noob. I had no idea what the other ones were like and only had heard of the R4. I might buy a better flashcart, but it depends whether or not this is a fake.

All R4 cards after the original are 'fakes', ie they are not made by the same company that made the original. This doesn't mean you shouldn't be able to get it to work though.

Unless you updated your DSi to the new 1.4 firmware.

Also, As long as the manufacturer has a website that spews out updates you should be fine. It might be fake but as long as it still gets updated its good.

Yeah, they had updates. The site it linked to was "r4dsi.com". The only reason I bought it with the 'i' is incase my sister with a DSi wanted to play a game on it.

Yes, I used the software on the card and it's been doing great.

r4i-rts and r4li would better than the fake r4i gold
you would regret it more if your sister ever update it to 1.4 or any firmware higher than 1.4
