Hacking R4i Gold (R4 DS), DSi XL - Getting Started

Hi

I have just bought a R4i Gold card and a SDHC card to use on my Nintendo DSi XL.

First of all. Are these compatible? I would like to use the R4i Gold & SDHC card to download games to use on my DSi XL. And if so, what do I do next? I'm pretty much a noob on this topic and have really no clue what to do next. I've understood I have to download the newest firmware on the SDHC card from the R4 homepage. Is this download the same for all DS' (DS Lite, DSi and DSi XL)?

After doing this; can I just start downloading games to the SDHC card and put this into the R4i Gold card and run it in the DSi XL?

Well. I wouldn't be so sure about that. Depends on your "R4 Gold".

It's a R4i Gold, V1.4.1.

I have downloaded kernel v1.40 from www.r4ids.cn (this adress is on the package). Is this an ok update to use? Should I install something more before starting to fill the SD card with games?

Any good pages for games to recommend?
