Hacking R4i Gold problems.

I've been thinking updating my DSi to 1.41 (I think thats the number..) But i'm worried that what if I update my r4i hold wrong, and I end up updating my DSi to 1.41 and I can't play my r4i anymore.. x_x.
Is there any specific way I can tell if I successfully update my R4i Gold to 1.41?

And please, no "get a blah blah" comments. I want to get a different card, but I don't have to free money to do so at this time. :/

which R4i gold do you have??

the r4i gold from here

will work on 1.4.1 after you update the card

the R4i gold from here
http://r4ids.com/
also will work after you update the card

I think these two are the only R4i Gold that are 1.4.1 compatible.

I actually have the one from r4ids.com it looks exactly like that website though, the contents are different though.

is yours the 1.4 or the 2.0??

if it's the 1.4 than the fix from the r4ids.cn will still work even though it says r4ids.com on the box

but if your's the 2.0 than use the fix from r4ids.com
