I've seen a thread regarding this question again but i'll add some more details to my problem.

Ok, I've bought my Girlfriend a Pink DS lite (not a brand new one, a pre-owned one, in very good condition that came bundled with an R4i Gold Cart from R4ids.com (not the 2.0 version, plus nor the 3ds version). I downloaded the latest firmware from the website which is 1.34 as of date.

The sticker on the front of the Cart clearly reads R4ids.com.

I've read somewhere that R4ids.com split up and I should be able to download the latest firmware from R4ids.cn, but to no avail, the firmware doesn't work. I've also tried R4iDSN.com, the firmware loads, it goes into the menu, but whenever i load a game, it stops at the LOADING screen. I've tried earlier versions from that website, it does the same thing. So, no luck at all again with R4iDSN.com.

I went to search the Download section on Filetrip for the corresponding firmwares and I stumbled upon this:

R4ids Gold Official Firmware 1.51C
http://filetrip.net/nds-downloads/f...r4ids-gold-official-firmware-151c-f24763.html

It runs and loads games perfectly! The only downside is that - whenever I restart my DS, or do a soft reset - it corrupts my MicroSD card. I've tried several MSD's and it does the same thing.

So I've tried the predecessor file which was:
R4ids Gold Official Firmware 1.50
http://filetrip.net/nds-downloads/f...r4ids-gold-official-firmware-v150-f23059.html

Finally, this one works. It loads games and runs everything perfectly. The only downside to this again, it's outdated! I can't play newer games with it (i.e. PKMN B/W B2/W2). This is the one that I have been using for a month now, because my Girlfriend took my R4i which can be updated to run the newer games, and not being able to play PKMN really sucks.

Is there a workaround for this? I've tried YSmenu but don't know which files are compatible with this R4i Gold Cart. I don't know if even the latest version of Wood (1.58) would be able to run on this, but I can assure you that 1.57 wood from R4iDSN.com loads, but isn't able to run any games.

Thank you for your time reading this lengthy post of mine, and I hope someone could provide some insights and help regarding my problem.

-Dan

If your internet speeds are fast enough. Streaming 4k takes alot. I used to only have 20mb sec, and 4k struggled. Now I have 300mb sec and 4k plays fine.

I think Game streaming should work like this.... Local Hardware able the run the game fine, game engine and common assets stored locally, all FMV and music and textures could be streaming

They went all in on streaming, should have been more of a hybrid approach

Or free government supplied high speed internet be nice also. Like Obama care. Xdqwerty that's cool, its time consuming but rewarding once done or playable, to see what you've made from scratch. Animations take forever, but worth it.

    @BigOnYa,
and the visual aspect of the game is quite crude (the sprite that looks best is that of the protagonist just because he is a stickman with sunglasses)

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
There is a bullets behaviour you assign to your character, that makes the code easier, under "behaviours"
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
i meant that when the character is pointing to the right, the bullets spawn where they should, but when he is on the right, they move to the right but the spawn point is incorrect
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Itch.io has lots of free assets also. Under the bullets behavior tab, there is a "rotate bullets" option, can try that. Or in the code can try
    - fire bullet Player.X(PlayerDirection)

That's cool tho, I'm proud of you going back to it, not giving up. It is difficult at first to learn, but fun once you get the hang of it. I think I've watched every tutorial video there is, but I still struggle sometimes to get stuff to work right. But gotta keep trying dif things, and eventually you will get it right.
