Hacking R4i Gold 3DS: Thinking about getting One

I thinking of getting a new flashcart for my DSi and thinking R4i Gold 3DS might be it. A couple of questions i would like answered please.

1. Does this flashcart actually work for the 3DS and DSi? (just want to be sure it's not a lie or something)
2. I heard that is uses the Wood FW; can I use that FW to play on the 3DS/DSi or do I have to use the R4i Gold 3DS Firmware?
3. Is it easy to patch/upgrade when new 3DS/DSi Firmware comes out and such?

I have an R4i Gold myself and I actually bought it only for Wood.

I see, thank you. Another question if I may; I'm looking at there main website and such and abit confused about something. If I want to use the wood firmware; do i just drag the WOOD FW into the root of my SD and it will load up WOOD? Or do I have put the R4i Gold 3DS firmware ALONG with WOOD in order for me to use WOOD FW?

ah okay; so I don't have like load up the R4DSi Gold 3DS firmware then launch the WOOD firmware as a NDS file or something?

Another question (sorry), does it work on the latest FW updates of DSi/3DS?

1) Yes, wood will auto-boot on a r4i Gold 3ds

2) Yes, only if you update your cart's boot-strap to support the latest dsi/3ds (updater found on main website)
