Hacking r4i 3ds - v4.5 cant tell if I updated, still not working on 3ds xl

Hey, basically i sent 3dsxl to nintendo for repairs (without r4i), it came back great but obviously updated. Now i cant use it on 3dsxl, naturally.

So, I replaced the kernel with V1.72b, but it doesnt change anything on 3dsxl.

So, i run it on dsi, works fine but when i go into upgrade, theres no option to actually update, just info on the type, etc.

it says in that window :SUPPORT MODEL: NDSL, NDSI 1.45, 3DS 4.5

it's still the bomberman logo when i start up the 3dsxl and dsi.

srry if i structured this poorly but any ideas on what i need to do? Ive been reading forums for 3 hr now but cant find threads that describe my problem.

Sounds like yours is an older one that can't be updated. Most flash cart teams (especially "R4 SDHC") put out a lot of models, and at any given time only the latest ones have updates.
