Hacking R4 Upgrade Revolution for DS Lite? (stuck on Load)

I have an Original R4 (black cartridge)

Anyways that's what it's called.. I peeled the sticker back to make sure it wasn't a fake (no chip)
I just found it again and I'm trying to get it to work on the DS Lite.. I've tried several different kernals
(R4v.172(SDHC) - r4v1.18 - Wood R4 v1.61)

None of them work.. I just get the Black Loading... Screen it won't go away.. I even tried no kernal on the microSD (which btw is 2GB) and obviously that didn't work.. I even tried eveything on a 8GB SDHC microSD..

I have re-formated the microSD to FAT32 as well.

Use the panasonic formatter, fill format, size adjust on?

I re-formatted it again but it didn't really do anything.. what kernal should I use for this cartridge on a DS Lite?
2GB microSD (formatted FAT) [non-sdhc]

Yup I have tried the following:

R4v.172(SDHC)
R4v1.18
Wood R4 v1.61
R4IIv2.7
R4IIIv3.9
R4IIIv3.8
Moonshellv1.71

I have formatted my microSD (2gb) 4 times from FAT - FAT32 back to FAT.
an this is on a NDSLite.

I just drag and drop the folder with the .dot files an such inside, to the root of my SD card.
When I power on the DS I either get a black Loading... Screen that won't go away or nothing at all

make sure you are extracting the Kernel to the Desktop or a folder on the computer before you put it on the MicroSD

extracting the rar straight to the MicroSD drive has caused no end of problems and errors because something seems to corrupt

Yeah I extract it in my downloads folder and dragged the files within, onto my microSD. still stuck on the Loading screen :/

Do you have another MicroSD (non-SDHC) to test with? I experienced something similar before, found out the problem is the MicroSD.

Actually I haven't, I will try another 2gb non sdhc..the microSD does work in the computer though?

Flash carts are much simpler devices than PCs and pickier about the MicroSD.

I know this thread is old. But i have the same r4 card and when i start up my ds it completely freezes the second i turn it on. I opened it up(don't try it unless you have absolutely no other choice) and i found a damaged section on the circuitboard. I can't tell for sure or how it got there in the first place but i think that is the reasom why is is malfuntioning. If you have this same thing on your circuitboard(if you still have it). Let me know.
