Hacking R4 DS skins

Hi ive made an optional bottom screen from the same icons as in my Signature,

i made it for those who might think the bottom screen is a bit boring,

all you have to do is save target image as and then edit the name by re-naming the 2 at the end on both

Extremely well done. I'm using this skin on my R4 now! One thing though, I downloaded the theme.ini that you made, but it's still a bit hard to read the game select screen as well as the game name on the bottom screen (where the blue box is). Other than those small things though, I love your work. Great job!

I'll just download your latest one and put it on my DS... (and the alternative iconsets)
the startup screens look good, only problem is the white border around the '?' icon cuts through the top of the icon, everything looks pretty good, however I just kinda feel it would be better with some more relative icons, I'd like to see what you'd come up with too

the game selection screens don't work too well, the fault is really only in your theme.ini, its very hard to see what file/directory you have selected, also the sun icon looks pretty bad in the green red square, I'd suggest just making a nicer version of the sun to go behind it like I did, its the only way to really improve the ugly little icon... and I guess to keep it balanced you should do the same for the reset icon

yeah, other than a few theme.ini colours, everything is great

Doesn't look very "girly" to me, but I might give it a shot. It might use fancy photoshop techniques, which are my natural-born enemy. In which case I couldn't help.

Edit: Yup, it involves some sort of fancy photoshop technique, so am am of no use to you.

Edit, number two: My newest skin! I like it, and I tested it. It's a vgcats.com skin, using the best character in the comic-the Rat-Flail! (It's only in two of the comics, though. I don't think the creator of vgcats considers it a character)

Huge thanks for the reply takaM, i will do my best to sort everything you mentioned,

its gonna be hard to think of very simple shapes to make relevant icons out of but i accept it as a challenge.

Thanks to everyone for all the feed back i will eventually make a download that contains all the different versions of icons in

one pack, so you all can... well

That sounds awesome, but I do love the pink right now. Pink just looks so good on the white DS, I think. Who cares if it's a "girl color"?

Where did you get the impression pink was a girly colour? Homophobes are most likely to be homosexual themselves
