Hacking R4 DS skins

Good intentions but those gradients are gonna look not-so-pretty on the DS-screen. Reduce the colours and dither the gradietnts to get the effect done right

For the upper screen, a simple pattern like the one on the DS-firmware only inverted would be nice.

Darksavior, I like the blur idea you have going there in the file directory screen.

Sure go ahead. I stole the idea from gctonyhawk

. Though he used it for the filenames of bckgrd_2. My original intention was adding lines like his moonshell skins but got frustrated getting them to match with the text. Oh well. That gaussian blurring seems to work good enough.

@khan. I like the dark red. Though it seems a bit..empty. Maybe add the Nintendo DS logo/R4 logo (something) to the logo.bmp?

@Khan - I didn't try it yet, but in the menus: doesn't the text on the screen use black? It seems too dark in that sense.

@lagman - Haha, great idea! Now if we could just make a GBAtemp themed skin customized with character icons (i.e. Dirtie etc)

Hi guys this isn't my first ever skin but i really spent a lot of time on it, i made the whole thing from scratch, no copy and pasting

I call it Xeoset, i have given it a fresh colored look that goes well with DS white,

i would really be grateful for feed back, especially from people such as takaM and Khan

Marth, your theme has some extremly annoying jaggies, but the idea of the design is top notch. Colours are hot!!!

Just tried your skin now, nice concept... just a few thoughts:
theme.ini needs working on, especially if the DS is at full brightness...
the fonts are slightly too light in most areas
e.g. game name font etc is too light compared to the white background

Looking good elsewhere though =]

It is really difficult for me as i have already said that I only use MS Paint but I will soon be moving to Paint.NET or whatever it's called. But yeah DS/R4 Logo will definitely need to go.

Well, that's where theme.ini will help me out and do not worry. bckgrd_1 will look good when all said and done.

REQUEST to anyone:

Somebody plz be kind and convert my skin shown above(Brown skin) and convert them into required bitmaps as well as to apply/take off that dithering effect that everyone keeps mentioning as I do not know how do that myself.

Hi ive made an optional bottom screen from the same icons as in my Signature,

i made it for those who might think the bottom screen is a bit boring,
