I successfully installed arm9hax,that took super long honestly. I honestly do not want to say it is noob friendly because it really is like 100 steps(no exaggeration) it took me the hours on hours but it is finally installed. How can I check to make sure I can safely update my firmware?

It is noob friendly when you think about how complicated someone else can make it. A lot of steps sometimes is necessary for it to be noob friendly. And nice job getting it installed! If you're using Aureinand, Firm 0/1 are patched so just update.

I think I had to check an option in the begging to make that happen. I just want to make sure the boxes are checked.I havent been able to go into my emunand but I don't really care it this point,what would be the easiest way to delete my emunand to clear the space? I really only had a OOT completed save game which I will probably ask around to get back.

I don't think I will be installing this on my o3ds since I do not even play it lol.

Pressing L says firmware (90).bin doesn't exist. Pressing R took me into emunand. Is there anyway I can clone emunand onto sysnand so I can keep my installed games /gamesaves?

Na firm patching is auto patched, you just inserted a flag. Probably updatedsysnand.

If you had an OOT save game, use a save manager to back it up and inject later. To get rid of emunand, I'd backup sysnand and your SD card and then format your SD card to get rid of the emunand partition.

What does updated sysnand mode do and how can I re access this option menu?? I am just terrified of overwriting all my hard work lol. I really want to update the sysnand though.

Oh I stand corrected. I used a different version of the A9LH stuff, and CTRBOOT. I had to hold L to boot on sysnand

Updatedsysnand just autoboots sysnand instead of emunand. Hold select on boot to access the options menu.

I am exhausted lol,I was honestly surprised at how long this took haha but I think overall it is worth it because it really does boot fast. Now I will checkout the guide to clone the emunand,hopefully that doesn't remove my a9lh installation.

Im going to have to pass on this lol. I am just going to backup my gamesaves and reinstall my CIA's not like I had many to begin with. Do you know what the easiest way to remove emunand would be?

Like completely from the sd card? Backup everything (sysnand, saves, sd card) and format your SD card. That'll get rid of your emunand partition.

Easiest way to remove emuNAND if you care about nothing? Use a partition manager and just extend the FAT32 partition to fill the entire SD. Quick fix.

Though if you plan on trying to moves saves etc over, then you should follow the guide for injecting various partitions.

Well if you have a couple minutes, just do this.

Go into sysNAND. Move a few icons around.
Go into your SD and move the folder from the Nintendo3DS you think is sysNAND to your desktop somewhere.
Boot system up. Are icons still where you left them? If so, you moved the emuNAND Nintendo3DS folder and can safely delete it.

Did the layout change or re-wrap everything? You moved your sysNAND. Put it back, and delete the other folder.

No it wouldn't. A9lh screwed with your console, not your SD card. You could change sd cards anytime and you'd still have a9lh.

I thought the payload boots off the SDcard? I don't think plain formatting would be the best of ideas lol. There has to be a crucial files list.

Lol yeah it boots off the sd card, but you can just download the correct files. All the necessary files come from Aureinand or Cakes or Rx"tools". There are no crucial files because you can just download them. Trust me.

By crucial I meant what files I need to load my sysnand lol.
