Hacking Quick question

I've been thinking of picking up a flash solution for awhile - it would have to be able to play NDS + GBA games, take microSD, and be flush with the ds lite. The m3 perfect lite fits the bill, but I was wondering if there is something around the corner coming out that would be a better purchase. I understand that there are a bunch of new slot1 solutions coming out and that the m3 real may be able to play gba games? Is there any advantage to having that other slot free - the only advantage of the new solutions I can think of is the drag and drop... or is it just that the new slot 1s don't require a passme and therefore costs less?
