Hardware Quick question about disk

So i'm pretty sure my modded wii cant run disk based backups for the wii. So my question is, is the same thing true if i try to run a gamecube game by backup or could it work?

Newer Wii consoles with the D3-2 drives cannot play backups of any kind. It's built to only read legitimate Wii discs. So no, you won't be able to run any backup Wii or GCN games, and you won't be able to play movies on DVDs either.

Thanks thats all I needed, Ill just have to hope a USB loader for gamecube gets created sometime.
