Actually, that feature was just recently finished.
Haha, shows what I know.
Sorry for misleading you, Rodan. Good luck on getting that setup!
Actually, that feature was just recently finished.
Ah, wonderful. Hopefully this will work. Thanks Maxternal!
By the way, I've seen an attachment for the wiimote that will allow its user to connect a gamecube controller. Does this work with other launchers like Dios Mios, or will it read as a wiimote attachment?
My internal hard drive crashed, so i got a new one and had to reinstall wii backup manager. Can i retrieve the files on the external wii hdd i used before? I don't want to format the hdd and lose all of my games
Use wiibackupmanager to copy your isos over to your drive in wbfs format.
Do not post multiple time everywhere.
The two other places were even not the correct place (You used a GameCube game playing FAQ to ask Wii hacking question)
1. FAT32 can use "wbfs" file format.
Just use the USBloader you want to convert your Game to WBFS file (it will create the wbfs format on your FAT32), or use WiiBackupManager program to convert an ISO to wbfs.
2. Don't use Pimp My Wii.
Re-read the Guide, you probably did something wrong or the guide is bad.
Don't follow old guides randomly, read a lot first to find the best/newer one with newest files.
There are easier guide to do it.
You could use ModMii instead (it's a PC program that will create a guide for you).
if you already have the homebrew channel, you did the hardest part.
what you need now is to install a cIOS to allow USBloaders (you only need two cIOS, but most guides install more, just in case you need them).
to install d2x cIOS, you can follow this guide :
http://code.google.com/p/d2x-cios/wiki/How_To_Install
You can do it manually, or let modmii to all the things for you (answer the questions, and it will download files you need to install. Then follow the guide that modmii create for you to install them on the Wii and you will have all the files useful to a hacked wii)
yes, that's it
Wii -> install homebrew channel -> put homebrew in SD/apps/ and launch them from homebrew channel.
if you want to use USBloaders, you need to install a custom IOS first, there are two way to do that:
- use a wad manager to install cIOS in .wad format (that you downloaded first)
- use the cIOS installer (it will download the IOS from nintendo and patch them before installing the result in another Wii's slot)
cIOS you need to install in the Wii:
Slot : 249
version : 8 (or 10)
revision 21008 (or 21010)
based on IOS : 56
Slot : 250
version : 8 (or 10)
revision 21008 (or 21010)
based on IOS : 57
Some wad manager require an already installed custom IOS to function (cIOS in slot 249 or in slot 236), some Wad manager doesn't require cIOS at all.
All depend on the Wad manager you use and its version.
it's one or another, not both !
it's
- install the cIOS from WAD file using Wad Manager
OR
- install the cIOS using the installer
If you use cIOS d2x installer, then that's all, you can now go to the next step : USBLoaders installed on SD card.
