Ah, wonderful. Hopefully this will work. Thanks Maxternal!

By the way, I've seen an attachment for the wiimote that will allow its user to connect a gamecube controller. Does this work with other launchers like Dios Mios, or will it read as a wiimote attachment?

It would be seen as a classic controller.

My internal hard drive crashed, so i got a new one and had to reinstall wii backup manager. Can i retrieve the files on the external wii hdd i used before? I don't want to format the hdd and lose all of my games

so....u have 2 drives? u question is confusing.

are u trying to read the hdd u use for wii games with wbfs manager? r u trying to move wii games back on to your pc?

Ahhh haven't been to this site in years. I'm trying to use CFG (have latest, v70 or something of that nature?) with my NTFS external HDD, however it only seems to be recognizing the .wbfs format files, and not my .iso's. Is there a step I missed somewhere for the isos? I have some other junk on the drive and I'm trying to avoid reformatting it just for the wii~

Thanks! I've searched tons of places but can't seem to find any useful info >.<

A re-re-repost!

"one stupid noob question!

I am trying to unblock the wii of a friend, a hot girl who is elvis fan :)

Also, I never do it before, but I was reading and it seens that WBFS format can store games in a smaller format, a 300mb mario example! She only have a 8GB pen drive, so I can't store so much games after I can load USB GX LOADER, so wbfs is the correct one for me ?

Can these days a FAT32 system store wbfs games who is a lot smaller?

Thanks :) |

Also, I was trying this tutorial http://gbatemp.net/threads/the-ultimate-wii-hacking-guide-for-beginners.306908/
And in step 4 can't install the most of the wads (usb GX don't) and after that I can't even uninstall!

So, I will skip everything to Pimp My WII this wednesday, I read that it correct wrong installations and install everything for me with a internet connection!

Will that Brick her wii D: ?

sorry the long post with 2 random question's -.-'

This post is a repost from another topic, think that here is more "apropriate"

Sorry the bad english trought "

Do not post multiple time everywhere.
The two other places were even not the correct place (You used a GameCube game playing FAQ to ask Wii hacking question)

1. FAT32 can use "wbfs" file format.
Just use the USBloader you want to convert your Game to WBFS file (it will create the wbfs format on your FAT32), or use WiiBackupManager program to convert an ISO to wbfs.

2. Don't use Pimp My Wii.
Re-read the Guide, you probably did something wrong or the guide is bad.

Don't follow old guides randomly, read a lot first to find the best/newer one with newest files.
There are easier guide to do it.
You could use ModMii instead (it's a PC program that will create a guide for you).

Thanks, I'm a newbie, but like to "hack" thing's, never get a wii it's the first time I turn on a Nintendo Wii...

If there's any modmii guide that can help me, also, I already installed: homebrew channel, priiloader and Bootmii, everything seens to work fine, the problem is with Ios opr cios (don't know) and MMM (the program who install wads...) Will research more about this Modmii, thank's

The problem is work and university, if anyone can help me with right guides and installation's will be apreciated, thank's.!"

if you already have the homebrew channel, you did the hardest part.
what you need now is to install a cIOS to allow USBloaders (you only need two cIOS, but most guides install more, just in case you need them).
to install d2x cIOS, you can follow this guide :
http://code.google.com/p/d2x-cios/wiki/How_To_Install

You can do it manually, or let modmii to all the things for you (answer the questions, and it will download files you need to install. Then follow the guide that modmii create for you to install them on the Wii and you will have all the files useful to a hacked wii)

So, as with manager the Wad won't work, I will install with direct D2x method, thinking it will work, after that I will run GX loader trought an app File on the homebre channcel... That's it?

How easy :)

Cross finger and hope it work's :))

yes, that's it :)

Wii -> install homebrew channel -> put homebrew in SD/apps/ and launch them from homebrew channel.

if you want to use USBloaders, you need to install a custom IOS first, there are two way to do that:
- use a wad manager to install cIOS in .wad format (that you downloaded first)
- use the cIOS installer (it will download the IOS from nintendo and patch them before installing the result in another Wii's slot)

cIOS you need to install in the Wii:
Slot : 249
version : 8 (or 10)
revision 21008 (or 21010)
based on IOS : 56

Slot : 250
version : 8 (or 10)
revision 21008 (or 21010)
based on IOS : 57

Some wad manager require an already installed custom IOS to function (cIOS in slot 249 or in slot 236), some Wad manager doesn't require cIOS at all.
All depend on the Wad manager you use and its version.

Okay now I am confused, I will do this first https://code.google.com/p/d2x-cios/wiki/How_To_Install

Install d2x cios using the app they provide, after this as MMM doesn't work I will use the classic wad manager not MMM to install theses Cios that you said athat is .wad format, so, these Cios I will find where?

it's one or another, not both !
it's
- install the cIOS from WAD file using Wad Manager
OR
- install the cIOS using the installer

If you use cIOS d2x installer, then that's all, you can now go to the next step : USBLoaders installed on SD card.

Think that's my last question, I'm dowloading some torrent's right now and see one with the following

"- Use WBFS Manager 3.x to transfer to HDD"

All the games i'm downloading it's in WBFS format, it seens that i can't just copy the downloaded game and paste it on the pen drive, I will need some external program to do it correctly, am I right?

Another thing, can I mix Wbfs games with iso games on the same pen drive ?

Hi guys. Is there a noob friendly version of "WiiFlow 4 The Masterpiece Pack by Abz" (it looks a little overwhelming for a new person).I just soft modded my wii and installed a bunch of roms from some of the old consoles. I saw videos of people showing their emuflow and I'd like to do that as well. Thanks
