You can try your IOS251 as Game IOS.Some of your Games are maybe using a Base 38 like "The Price Is Right Decades".
You can try and install d2x v8final Base 37/38 in Slot 245 and 246 for Example.

Good Luck.:)

Thanks for the suggestions but none of them worked.

If someone with a PAL Wii has got any of the following NTSC games working, then would they please let me know how:

The Amazing Race, Hollywood Squares, The $1,000,000,000 Pyramid, Family Feud Decades, The Price Is Right Decades, and Who Wants To Be A Millionaire.

After softmodding pal or ntsc wii's should be able to play games from any region, although you should make sure the video mode is supported on your TV, or adjust the video mode settings accordingly.

Are you using the latest version of gx from @blackb0x 's signature?

Edit: you should also install priiloader, this has a bunch of region free system menu hacks as well, although I don't think these will impact how games are loaded via homebrew like usb loader gx

I haven't tried installing Priiloader and activating its region free settings, because I don't believe it will affect games played through USB Loader GX. However, I guess I could try it, in case I'm wrong.

Ideally someone with an American Wii should test 1 or 2 of them games, since they might be doing some kind of a region check.

I think you are probably right abut the region check. For example, Hollywood Squares apparently checks which country you are in, to determine which language to load. It only recognises 'NTSC' countries. I believe you can only change the Wii's country through system settings, and of course on a PAL Wii no 'NTSC' countries are listed. I'm guessing that's why none of the ULGX region free settings make any difference, as you need to be able to change the Wii's country to America.

The completist in me did consider creating a NTSC NEEK Nand and booting into it just for these few USA games, which I guess would work? It's a lot of work for just a few games though!

It won't apply to anything that's launched from a USB loader.

The only worthwhile test that you can do is with that older version of Dolphin. And I'm recommending an older version because newer versions get around all region and piracy checks.

If someone with an American Wii can play them backups then you could either change your Wii's region (risky) or you could try to setup neek2o with the help of ModMii.

Yeah I guess I will have to bite the bullet and try neek2o!

I remember I had tested these "Shovelware" Games long time ago on my PAL (4.3E) Wii and all worked with Base 38 in Slot 247 and/or 246.
I will look at it again, please be patient.:)

Sorry to say, none of them are working now on my PAL Wii....
All of them are working fine on my (Region changed) US Wii.

I have no Idea, what makes these Game not working now.
I have tried the same cIOS on the PAL Wii that these Games use.
IOS247[56] (rev 65535, Info: d2x-v8final): Trucha Bug, NAND Access, USB 2.0

Some "strange" Thing is:
with
IOS247[56] (rev 65535, Info: d2x-v8final): Trucha Bug, NAND Access, USB 2.0
the Blue LED stay on the Wii Motion Controller but Black Screen.

With
IOS247[56] (rev 21008, Info: d2x-v8final): Trucha Bug, NAND Access, USB 2.0
the Blue LED goes out on the Wii Motion Controller but Black Screen.

Our Wii Devs/Profis said, there are no Difference between them....:(

So maybe a (second) Region Changed Wii (a really simple Job with @XFlak ´s ModMii by the Way) seems maybe a Choice.....

Thank you.:)

@alexander1970 Thank you for taking the time to test the games and confirm what I thought.

Our Wii Devs/Profis said, there are no Difference between them..
I believe you can choose the revision number when you install the cIOS. Most people choose 65535 just so that any firmware updates that check the IOS revision number will believe it is the latest version and therefore not overwrite it. The cIOS is the same regardless of the revision number you assign it. So why you are getting slightly different results makes no sense and is most likely just a fluke.

I remember I had tested these "Shovelware" Games long time ago on my PAL (4.3E) Wii and all worked with Base 38 in Slot 247 and/or 246.
So you used Base 38 previously and that worked, but this time you are using base 56? Have you tried base 38 now?

Anyway, I guess the question is; what has changed on your PAL Wii since they were working?

I suggested priiloader from a brick protection perspective, you're right in that it's system menu hacks won't impact usbloader app functionality

@alexander1970

So you used Base 38 previously and that worked, but this time you are using base 56? Have you tried base 38 now?

Anyway, I guess the question is; what has changed on your PAL Wii since they were working?

Unfortunately,a lot.....because it is also my Test Wii

- Region Change(s) and back
- System Menu Up/Downgrade(s) and back
- countless cIOS Changes......
- newest USBLoader GX (@blackb0x Enhanced Versions included) and Configurable USB Loader Versions...
- different TV / Video Sources/Cables
- different USB Devices / also different formatted (NTFS and FAT32)

I found this Post
https://gbatemp.net/threads/black-s...tten-sands-usb-loader-gx.565139/#post-9057043
and I remember I did the Game Tests a few Weeks before May 2020.

And for Base 56 - I tooked it over from my US Wii,the Games worked with that Base there.
No,unfortunately no Success on the PAL Wii with that.Maybe I had used hermes cIOS / Slot 222/223 ?
Hmm.....I do not really remember,I am very, very sorry....

I have used the Configurable USB Loader r78.11 (from 2017) to determine the needed cIOS (247 mainly).
Yesterday I have tried to use "old" Configurations from previously saved SD Cards (USB Loader(s),Game Configs etc.)
No Success....

So many Things have changed in the last Year.....:(
I will look further on this,if you like,but...please have a little Patience.

Thank you.:)

I'm considering using Modmii, ARC or Wii-Mod-Lite to swap my Wii's region to USA so that I can play the USA games.

Does anyone know which PAL exclusive games wont play on a USA Wii through USB Loader GX? A quick google suggests that there aren't any.
