Hey, I have a few various questions here and wasnt able to really find any info.

1. I was trying to have rxtools boot automatically from cold boot. Setting menuhax to Type 2 for auto boot causes RXtools launching to trigger menuhax again and then eventually freezes with a red screen on bottom. Is there a way to set that up?

2. Games that prompt for an update. I loaded Tomodatchi Life and said there was an update and to go to eShop. This would be independent of System update, correct? My emunand is currently 9.2 still so I am guess (2ds) i would need to update emunand to 10.3 to be allowed into eShop and then update would apply fine?

3. I followed some steps on converting .3ds to .cia. It hady me create a bin file on my pc, copy to 3ds then run rxtools decrypter for xors. My question is are cia's created on 1 system ok for others? Any serial conflicts for online play? I recall reading 3ds needed different fields to not get flagged and banned. And that cia's didnt have that issue and used something else, i think tied to the system.

1 - changing the theme in emunand stopped my o3ds freezing on the red screen after using menuhax to set the whole thing up.

2 - updating emunand to 10.3 is fine for both old 3ds and 2ds but not new 3ds - new 3ds is max of 9.5 i think

3 - not sure about this one - there are cia's available online that are online patched and firmware spoofed etc...

regards

1. Perfect, that makes sense. So I guess I can set R as the normal boot button, let Menuhax go once normal, then hold R to bypass 2nd time and then swap themes to kill Menuhax on Emunand
2. So if I load up eShop, it will fail if on old firmware or go through, in which case updating is fine?
Is there a tutorial on how package my own downloaded patches? As of now the 2DS's should have no problem updating emu and downloading it but the N3DS im unsure. Or is there a hacked eshop that will allow spoofing of firm version for N3DS?
3. Ill ask around and see what else I can find.

Making Cias is fine there are no serial conflicts as the console generate the id for the cia + console combination so its different each console, so they cna be shared and wor online fine

serials etc Only apply to flashcards and .3ds files

Also for eshop http://gbatemp.net/threads/tutorial-how-to-access-nnid-and-eshop-on-9-5-0-23-emunand.407714/unread
Ok, so the ID is generated off the info from the device currently running the game not the one used to decrypt. Thats better. New 3ds is a hassle to keep popping the microsd out of. Always concerned battery may pop out when doing writes.

also you only need to FW spoof certain games like triforce heroes and if there is an update it also needs to be FW spoofed

Thanx for the heads up as Triforce heroes was one I was going to try out.

I'm looking into something called NTR CFW 3.2 which i think can spoof the eshop on the N3DS - i'm hoping it will update the games etc...
This could help you -----> https://gbatemp.net/threads/how-to-...eshop-and-more-on-new-3ds-and-old-3ds.386591/
Thank you. Ill give it a whirl tonight.

To stop the bootloop, you could also unlink your nands, to do so, remove your sd card then do a system format on sysNAND.

@AncientBoi, Yeah, believe you can do PSP games as well. But a Pi5 is much powerful in comparison.

Not sure about other models of Pi4 but the Pi 4 B with 8GBs OCed to 2Ghz handles PSP really great except like 1 game I found and it is playable it just looks bad lol Motor Storm Arctic something or other.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Other games I can have turned up to like 2X and all kinds of enhancements, Motorstorm hmmm nope 1X and no enhancements lol

I will admit that one does seem more interesting than the usual Ambernic ones, and I already liked those.

    I dread the price point.

This looks like one of their premium models, so... $150 :glare:

  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    To me that seems reasonable.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I mean since basically all the games are errmmm free lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I mean yeah sure but the specs are the same as a $50 model, it's just those pesky "quality of life" things driving up the price, like an actually working speaker, or buttons that don't melt, and stuff like that.

I think all in my Pi 4 was well north of 200 bucks 150ish for the Pi 4 the case the fancy cooler, then like 70 for the 500GB MicroSD then like 70 for the Xbox controller. But honestly it's a nice set up I really enjoy and to me was worth every penny. (even bought more controllers for 2 or 4 player games.) hmmm have never played any 2 player games yet :(
  • Veho @ Veho:
Yeah that's what I hate about the RPi, it's supposedly $30 or something but it takes an additional $200 of accessories to actually turn it into a working something.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
yes that's the expensive part lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I mean sure it's flexible and stuff but so is uremum but it's fiddly.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Yeah a lot of it I consider a hobby, using Batocera I am constantly adjusting the collection adding and removing stuff, scraping the artwork. Haven't even started on some music for the theme... Also way down the road I am considering attempting to do a WiiFlow knock off lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I want everything served on a plate plz ktnx, "work" is too much work for me.
  • Veho @ Veho:
Hmm, with that in mind, maybe a complete out-the-box solution with all the games collected, pacthed and optimized for me would be worth $150

Yeah it's all choice and that's a good thing :)
