I know it is not possible to view edited pictures on the DSi.

I would like to eventually make a picture converter (if possible) so we can view our computer edited pictures on our DSi's.
How does a DSi tell whether a photo has been edited or not? Does it store a checksum of every picture you take? Do the pictures need some proprietary structure? Any info on this would be appreciated.

I can already view pictures using my r4i gold.

Is it possible to view your dsi's pictures using your friend's dsi? Or are the pictures only viewable on DSi that made them?

EDIT: I know it is possible to send pictures over wireless, I am concerned about viewing my DSi's pictures saved on my SD card on a friend's DSi.
