Hello, I recently bought a new switch for hacking (I have two).

The first thing I did was Backup the Nand while being completely offline with it.

The thing is. I think I was on firmware 4.1 when I did it. Afterwards, I updated the switch using my legit gamecart and then proceeded to hack it using SX OS Pro while having no internet on it. (I had no idea about this whole burning fuses and what not until now).

I installed a couple of NSP's because the site I used only had those ones available.

The Switch is still completely offline and has not even remotely once connected to the Nintendo servers, even to update the games. So, Nintendo has no idea it even exists still. I haven't even put in any wifi settings or linked a Nintendo account to it either.

I read that since I burned my fuse, my initial clean NAND backup is no longer able to be restored? Not sure.

But, what can I do to be able to completely clean this switch out, in preparation for firmware 6.0.0 as to not leave any traces that it was hacked?

Or am I sadly out of luck? TBH, I don't mind if this gets banned since it is my second switch. Just would like to avoid it if possible. If not, I'll have to update the switch via gamecart to firmware 6.0.0.

If push comes to shove. I do have Geeksquad accidental protection on it. So, I can just get a new switch and our Bestbuy up here still has a ton of pre-june switches available.

First, you should have posted here (https://gbatemp.net/threads/switch-noob-paradise-ask-questions-here.488277/) instead of making a new thread.

Second, yes if you made a backup then updated while burning fuses, your original backup can only be used if you boot into RCM to bypass the fuse check. However what you can try doing is restoring your NAND backup then update to the latest firmware. After its been updated, dump the NAND again and you have a new clean NAND backup only on a higher firmware.

Sorry, I'm new. So, I didn't see that thread. I'll use that from now on. Thank you though!

So, what you're saying is Boot into RCM, then use TegraRCMGui to boot into Hekete 4.0.0. Then, restore my Nand backup (To bypass the fuse check) and then update to firmware 6.0.0 and re-backup the nand?

Or, am I currently safe atm with my original clean nand backup due to the fact this switch has never been online yet, and I don't plan on having it online anytime soon.

Well unless you're on firmware 6.0 right now (which you shouldn't be) then just update to 5.1 which is currently the latest official firmware; 6.0 has not been released for public download yet. Also your original clean NAND backup is stuck on 4.1 so it can't even go online so not much point in keeping it around for preventing a ban let alone recovering from a brick.

That's the problem. My Nand is on 4.1 while I'm on 5.1 >.>; What I was trying to ask, is if I can still restore to that backup while being on 5.1, then update to 6.0 when it releases then do a fresh nand backup on that firmware? That way I'll have a fresh Nand backup of 6.0 firmware.

Another question. My Legit switch has my 256gb Micro-SD card in it. I want to switch that over to my hacked switch which has my 64GB Micro-SD installed. How can I switch between the two? So, my Legit switch has the 64GB and my Hacked one has the 256GB without causing any issues?

I don't have any Eshop games on the Legit switch, only game-carts (I get them for trade in purposes).

Last question. With the introduction of the Stealth mode for SX-OS. Can I implement Wifi settings on my hacked switch to enable FTP usage?

So far I've been using RCM mode and turning it into a USB mass storage device to edit the files on the Micro-SD card.

    Thanks!

I wouldn't 100% trust stealth mode to keep you safe but I suppose you could use it for ftp

There's no reason to update to 6.0 immediately if you're using a hacked console. That is an unspoken rule of hacking: never update to a new firmware when it comes out. Firmware 6.0 breaks some of the hacks that worked on 5.1 so only update if you value online play over hacks. Eventually, it'll be safe to update to 6.0 but not immediately. Wait until the community confirms its safe to update.

Just copy and paste the files and there shouldn't be any issues.

If you're using Stealth Mode from SX OS, you can use FTP without fear of getting banned since it blocks all Nintendo-related traffic.

Yea. I "only" want to use it for FTP to save from hassle reasons. But, overall. I can still use the RCM mode to connect it via USB like I have been doing. Just takes a long time is all lol.

Only reason I'd say not to trust it that much is because Nintendo could always change a server address or something ya know?

Thank you for all the advice. I'll wait on updating to 6.0 firmware until the kinks are worked out, then do a nand restore, then backup the nand aftewards on 6.0 after everything is all good on it.

Awesome! I'll go ahead and get started on that!

Thanks, using FTP will save a lot of headache for me. = )

You've been such a great help. Thanks so much!

That's true. I suppose what I'll do is use FTP for now and get all the game updates and what not. Then delete my Wifi settings and the FTP after. I'll have to be vigilant on when Nintendo does change their servers though.

I'll need 6.0 for games that require it no?

Like Super Smash Ultimate and what not?

backup switch nand before doing any hacking.
all switchs were suggested to be update firmware into 5.1.0 as soon as possible
if some guy want to upt 6.0, it must restore nand before updating for prevent a console ban
