Hacking Question about booting...

I have been thinking about hacking my Wii U, but before I go and find a guide, etc. I need to ask a question. This isn't my Wii U only, so is there a way that I could to something like how rxTools (on 3DS) used to boot when you held L, rather than an instant boot into the hack?

By the way, if there's something I'm getting wrong because I'm comparing it to 3DS, please tell me!

The wiiu hack is loaded by going onto the Internet then going to the right site for the hack to run you need to do this every time you want to run homebrew. So it's simply a case of not going to that site anytime you don't want the homebrew to boot.
