Gaming Puzzle dragons mario edition buggy???

Hi, i just finished the game and got bowser as a playable Character, but I cannot put him in a team.he is nowhere to be found. Only in the “strenghten abilities“ screen. Same goes for yoshi and toad as well. Does anyone know why?
Any help is appreciated.
