"add option to enable/disable database for roms handling (db.xml), application restart required (disable by default)"

that's mean we can use our own roms ?

Someone test it with sx os? :(

Great work @cpasjuste, I tried with hekate and its perfect :D
Some people reported that they are having issues using pSNES with SX OS. But you can launch hekate with SX OS and use pSNES then.
PSNES keeps freezing on me every time I load a game using SX OS 1.1 (unlicensed) on latest firmware. Am I doing something wrong?

I just tired the Version 1.3 with SXOS v. 1.1 - still freezed upon loading a rom file. Is there anything I can do that would help making this work? Like dumping a crash log?

Will try the Hekate in a few here.

Great work, 1.3 is really good! :)

I hate to nitpick but in this version I cannot map buttons like L to ZL. I know it worked in the first version. Also would it be possible to filter the game list in non-db mode to only show roms? I think to file endings are .sfc and .fig.

Thanks again for your efforts, much appreciated! I'm playing Super Metroid on my Switch

Loving the program, seems like the latest release is pretty much stable. This is the first time I've really played games with filters, and damn does EPX look great.

A few issues / suggestions:

- I'm sharing a rom folder with the libretro core, would be cool if pSNES could filter out sram and state files.
- R and L work best as RZ and RL, would love to be able to assign menu buttons to L and R.
- Are the filters / improvements going to hit the pFBA app also? :D

I haven't downloaded the latest pSNES version yet, but i wasn't able to get any rom working (.sfc or .smc). Is there any roms pack that i just can copy in the roms folder and get going, now that the db requirement is gone? (First time going snes homebrew so i dont have any roms collection)

I don't support the mainline snes9x core yet, so that's a valid reason to use this build.

@cpasjuste Keep it up
M4xw, your port runs better though, people just like fancy uis over functionality for some wierd reason. I respect the progress of this but I'll stick with you and your almost flawless snes port :)

Just for curiously I wonder what do you mean by it run better ? (pSNES does run all ROMs fullspeed if I'm not mistaken).

From my testing, I crashed while docked and in hand held, and not just soft crashes, full on crashing where I have to use jig. I haven't tested 1.3 so maybe you have fixed a lot of the crashing, also not sure if you are using video threading but the retroarch port just seems smoother. I'm not biased on any emu, just go by what works the best and I'm not hung up in uis either like most are

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM

  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm

i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds

It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space

@rqkaiju2, Physical media is a great source for archiving your data, none of that cloud storage shiz.
