I've only ever cold booted my Switch a couple of times to get rid of an update nag. I don't plan using my jig until CFW with sleep mode is out, and I don't plan on cold booting again unless I'm forced to.

So I'm not really bothered about the jigs tbh, Subcon made mine and it looks like he's used soft wire so yeah, non issue as far as I'm concerned.

Yes, the jigs can/will degrade the pins on your switch, if you're rough
No, you don't have to be rough for it to work, if you're being rough, you're doing it wrong
No, you aren't sealing the fate of your switch by using the paperclip jig
Yes, if you are hard of hearing when I said DON'T BE ROUGH you can still buy a replacement on the cheap

using a jig is probably a lot safer than shoving screwdrivers and wires into the rail
