Sounds good. Hopefully the scene makes some easy loader stuff soon, like the Vita scene did. I'm not in a hurry. Switch takes up most of any gaming time I can even get to, and some Xmas Xbox games I've never touched are sitting there. At least I'm glad I held on to an old fat destiny PS4 for so long.

Ok my PS4 was already updated (too late :( ). Is there a higher FW exploit? even if not made public (yet).

Stupid question: you mentioned that it's good to disable the internet connection before install. What about after we have installed the PKG? Can we enable it again and play online? Or is the ban risk very high like it was in PS3? :)

These 4.05 backups are useless for eventual higher firmware exploits right?

I don't think so. Any higher firmware would theoretically be backward compatible with old software/games.
Edit : I might be wrong since those 4.05 PKG were decrypted with specific 4.05 FW keys, so probably they won't work on higher FW.

There is a private kernel exploit for 5.01 and 5.03 (I think). But there's no plans to release it yet.

Where did you get that information ? A source ? I only know the source statement that there is a private kernel exploitable for 5.00 and 5.01.

I just opened my PS4 again and lo and behold: 4.07. I just want to play PS2 titles. :(

Can't seem to get the local host to work right. I can get to where you can dump a payload, but no matter what I select, it always errors out on a timeout. :-/

more than likely you have not set your pc dns (the same one displayed when you open local host if not you have old version update) to the as the ps4's primary dns. The second dns should be the user guide dns or left blank will also work. Are you using a vpn or something? What's the ip of the pc? Is it the primary dns of the ps4?
