That's because it is PS3UPDAT.PUP.

Needs to be located at the root of the card at PS3/UPDATE/

If my PS3 froze just after I hit a SUCCESS (ie the waves in the background don't move anymore) it means that the exploit failed and that I should reboot right ? The console has been hanging like that for more or less 10 minutes

Got to the success screen and my console turned off but did not restart on it's own. I turned it but I'm unsure whether the exploit worked or not. I tried on install CFW but from storage media but keep getting "data is corrupted (8002F957)" Also tried installing through safe mode with similar results. Should I try running the exploit again? On a phat CECHK.

They know that for some people it freezes. Try, i do not know. Put a CFW on your USB. and see.

when you choose writer, you have an option to write to NOR or write to NAND. dont worry about EMMC, since no supported ones use it.
