You can dump the idps of super slim consoles currently using a webkit. So one can assume its only a matter of time. You can pick up a non super slim ps3 for less than $100 now

Are normal slims still prone to ylod/gpu failure like the phats were?. I can pick up a slim 21xx series for cheap at the moment, yet held off because of the issues the phats had.

You can always turn up their fan speeds to decrease chances.

You can still get slim consoles(not super slim) for less than $100 however

So this replaces those $70 eeprom programmers, nice.
I read that it's possible that they might upgrade it into HEN type to support 3.56+ consoles but it won't see light probably another couple of years.

I'm a complete noob on the PS3 scene - does this CFW offer the most features? Why would one want to use REBUG 4.81 like the guide mentions?
Just want to make sure the initial CFW is a good one, if there is such a thing.

Its more of a recommendation. You can use any cfw you want.
Im new to the ps3 scene too. I literally just got into it yesterday.

The cfw I linked works fine so far. I was able to run ps1 and ps2 iso's. And install multiman.
Not sure which is the best cfw.
